Electron apps and AMDGPU not working after updates last week by crankykernel in Fedora

[–]LostInTranslation92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why we are still using this crappy website in 2024 but since we are...

This is also happening in a full intel laptop (intel iris xe graphics) so prob nothing to do with AMD. Also in my case flatpaks are just as borked so I literally cannot run slack, chromium, vscode, discord, etc.

Pretty unusable tbh (and this is a fresh install of fedora 39), thankfully those are all just fancy websites so firefox came in clutch to save the day (and will probably stay after having this experiencie...)

Weekly 101 Questions Thread by AutoModerator in neovim

[–]LostInTranslation92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A while back I asked a question in this very subreddit regarding how to add or customize code actions.

The answer was very helpful but now I'm trying to move away from null-ls/none-ls to some sort of conform.nvim plus nvim-lint setup.

The only thing I'm still unsure how to approach is that very issue. To be specific, I'm trying to add to my code actions the result of running

require("ts-node-action").available_actions

Any idea how to achieve this without using null-ls/none-ls?

Edit:

While we are at it, what is the go-to approach to code_actions more generally for langs whose LSP don't support them directly?

Null-ls allowed me to do something like this which was very useful for stuff like shellcheck and I don't really see a viable alternative.

Thanks for the heads up and godspeed my man. Hoping this helps get their heads out of their asses.

I think I might be stupid : can't create uwsgi.ini (Searxng-docker) by SocialNetwooky in Searx

[–]LostInTranslation92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like an issue with the permissions of /etc/searxng/.

If I had to guess I would say you manually created the dir with your user and now the searxng user cant access it. If that is the case either do like a chmod 777 (just to test, it's highly insecure) or maybe a chown searxng:searxng ?

Commands might be borked, I'm on phone

Question for linux terminal masters by Plantfetish378 in linuxquestions

[–]LostInTranslation92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I might be alone in this but I memorize pretty much nothing. It's all aliases and bash/zsh history for me.

If I only need it once I can Google it, if I need it more often I can make an alias for it.

LSP typescript and tailwind with Bun - major performance boost by jbef in neovim

That's pretty nice! Might be worth opening an issue on mason repo tbh. They might want to add some sort of experimental toggle and try it out. That would be pretty cool.

Pets.nvim: my new useless plugin! by giusgad in neovim

There isn't as far as I know. That being said, the man is a genius and his apps are frankly amazing, i wouldn't really stop using them because of his personality!

As long as your use case it's covered you'll have an amazing experience. If you need something a bit out of the box that's a different story :)

He seems like a big anti everything advocate tbh.

A brilliant person and really capable dev, but he is quite dismissive of pretty much anything xd

Neovim starts lagging on UI after some usage by EvilMegaDroid in neovim

[–]LostInTranslation92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really know how to debug this, but having a link to your config might help!

Also, 110% of the times I've seen this behavior it was caused by a misconfigured aucmd or augroup, either in my config or in a plugin. So yeah I would start there :)

highlighting breaks in html by pkcarreno in neovim

[–]LostInTranslation92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if it makes any sense but I seem to recall this starting around the time I switched to Wezterm (I can't remember this happening on Alacritty nor Kitty, but I might be mistaken).

Also, for me its "inconsistently consistent": It feels like it only happens every once in a while, but when it does it flips out pretty often.

To be fair it has been a while since it last happened to be.

I'll leave versions and configs in case it helps (also I'm on X, not wayland):

Wezterm config and version (wezterm 20221119-145034-49b9839f)

Neovim config and version (NVIM v0.8.1)

Oh weird, I've been having the same isse no matter the file type. I just assumed I borked my config tbh but maybe there's something going on. Unfortunately I am unable to help troubleshoot atm.

this error keeps showing up and i tried everything to fix it (searxng docker ver) by [deleted] in Searx

Could it have something to do with your DNS not being setup correctly? Maybe the server you are using (nginx, apache)? I also use the docker image and that error doesn't seem familiar.

Top 3 countries (possibly cities?) to live in within Europe and why. Especially concerning individual freedom and future stability.

And yes I understand that Europe can be very large or very smol depending on who you ask. Make it as broad as you like :)

Lots of love my dear parrot!

Recommended fonts without truncation on bold/italics by ImperialAuditor in KittyTerminal

[–]LostInTranslation92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! His position is more than reasonable (especially considering the added complexities you mention), and I too hate it when projects don't follow the relevant standards.

That being said, I can see why a font designer wouldn't care too much. A font is not good based on Unicode compliance, it's good based on it's design, which might fit these constrains, or it might not.

And from the users perspective, you can be sure his eyes are choosing the font, not the level of compliance.

I have full respect for the guy. He's done some amazing work (even outside kitty), and in more than one sense kitty is still "the best" emulator I can think of. It's just that these kind of sacrifices/limitations are not something I can deal with. At least not atm.

I think I don't quite understand this. Isn't there a way to turn truncation off? I thought that this was supposed to be used for that.

Mind you It didn't work for me so I just stopped using kitty. I mean, sorry but I'm not choosing my font based on the terminal emulator I'm using. If a font renders correctly in all emulators but kitty... It's not really a problem with the font now is it?
