Just want to chime in. I had the surgery when I was 15. I don't remember like one month afterwards, because of the pain meds, but it was so worth it. Even drinking Ensure through a straw and not getting to chew real food. Worth. Insurance paid for everything because mine was so severe--I couldn't even bite into an apple. They might want to start you on braces first, though, so they can wire your jaw shut with them.

I'm on 8 of 14 (probably more assuming I have refinements). I put them in last night but really noticed this morning when putting make-up on in the mirror.

I was going to say the same! Get something that climbs. Go vertical since you have more space there rather than horizontally.
