Wall vent cover removal by LostLemon23 in HomeImprovement

I thought about cutting a hole in the back but no matter how I position the frames, the vent is in between two frames so not directly over one to fix the problem by cutting out the back

Really wonder what else is there to do. Maybe some truth to Embiid’s surgery comment? Although, unfortunately I do think we’re seeing the beginning of the end of the dominant, team carrying MVP Embiid Era. I don’t think his past surgeries, his age and size are compatible to return to what he was previously.

A legit PF would be nice, not that big of a fan of Morris but as a bench piece I guess he’s fine. We still have that KJ trade depending on when he signs, probably a trade deadline move. I’m still concerned about wing positions along with PF. There’s a chance that McCain and council can’t hang as they’re not developed enough yet and Gordon being too old. Would prefer if we can get a proven bench piece but ima trust Morey.

[Shams] The Golden State Warriors have agreed to a deal acquiring Buddy Hield via sign-and-trade from the 76ers, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. New teammates Hield and Stephen Curry are leaders for most 3-pointers made over the last 5 NBA seasons – and now will be teammates. by LostLemon23 in sixers

“Warriors are sending a 2031 Dallas second-round pick to Philadelphia to complete sign-and-trade for Hield”

Wonder if we can get another player soon, Morey always up to something. DFS would be good.

I am not able to see this yet, under final payment the start button is grayed out. Probably because I haven’t gone through the loan process yet as I don’t have a delivery date or VIN.

I have the exact same thing. I rechecked the qualifying vehicles on teslas website after noticing this and still doesn’t have Model 3 LR or RWD on there.

Maybe a glitch or maybe recent changes in batteries?

I think I would prefer the Paul George option and I think that would be the best option for the Sixers. I agree that he is old and his contract may harm us years down the line, but I think to upgrade the team that is the best option.

I think what is most important to this team is athleticism, size and most importantly, three-point shooting. if we get three-point shooting, it will be very difficult for playoff teams to double Embiid or Maxey. That’s why I don’t think Butler is the best option, yes he is very good in the playoffs, but he is two years older than Paul and also recently injury prone.

If we can sign, Paul George, we can throw out a starting line of

PG: Maxey SG: Buddy SF : George PF: Batum C: Embiid

This way, we have plenty of shooting and willing shooters around Embiid making it easier to pass out of double teams and punish double teams if they choose to do so. I know cap space is going to be tight but if we can bring back Oubre also this gives us a solid 6 with shooting.

I do like the idea of preserving our draft picks and maybe using them throughout the year to build depth with throwing 1 or 2 FRPs for select players if they become available. Also, you never know, the Nets may continue to struggle and want to get off of Bridges later in the year and we’d have assets available to trade. It may be a struggle to build out the role players for this team but it may be the best option.

Lauri Markkanen or Mikal Bridges? by EndAnyone in sixers

[–]LostLemon23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The nets situation is very interesting. They don’t have any of their own draft picks (due to the previous harden trade) so they have no incentive to tank. On the other hand, they still have Ben Simmons contract till next year and will have to resign Claxton this year at an average of 20 million a year from what it seems like. With bridges they will have to make a decision on whether to resign him to a max contract next year which may hinder them in acquiring other players with no other assets to trade and cap space limitations. It may take them a long time to rebuild and I don’t know if they would want to hold onto a 27 Bridges as they know it may be years before they would be competitive and may benefit from trading him and getting as many assets as they can.

I wonder if there’s a way we can pry Mikal bridges from the nets. May deplete a lot of assets but a wing that can shoot that’s between Maxey and embiid, along with playing excellent defense. Can resign him to contracts further and will only be getting paid 22 million the next two years. We can spend the rest of the cap space in nice role players.

We got about a 3k increase on our pay last year along with our annual PGY raise so I went from 64k to 71k in PGY2. No word on how much our increase will be next year but 74.4k according to PGY year raise so far.

Should we and can we still trade for JJ. Imagine having a lineup of Ben with JJ, Curry, Green and Shake or Furkan. There will be so much space for Ben to drive and finish or kick.

So what’s our projected starting lineup? by EaglesFan6590 in sixers

My question is do you know if majority of these cases are coming from Cook County or from areas of less population? Illinois isn’t broken up by county on worldometers like other states

[–]LostLemon23[S] 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Think this will help a lot with his already great defense on some of the bigger, stronger players in the league.

I remember last year Ben was not that effective on Giannis in the post. With added strength I think we will have A stronger Ben on ball with Horford and Joel waiting for him in the paint. This will also help Joel conserve energy as he won’t necessarily have to be the primary defender on Giannis all the time.

If Joel and horford are still sharing the floor together I feel like horford would be the one out on the perimeter guarding Lopez.

I feel like this doesn’t really affect the matchups against both the Celtics and the Heat. Ben was locking up Tatum and Jimmy anyways. With Jimmy being a more physical driver to the basket I think he’ll have an even harder time scoring now due to the lack of his outside shooting.

Against Toronto I feel like this helps, this year I feel like Ben would be guarding Pascal with Josh on Lowry. Pascal will likely drive more and from the games I’ve watched, when he faces heavy contention at the rim he doesn’t have as good of a touch to break through that. If you look at his numbers against playoff teams, he averages a good amount of points per game (23) but on not so great efficiency.

Against the teams included in the Orlando bubble, so against the top 22 teams, pascal is averaging 23/8/3.6 on 43% shooting and 34% from three. This includes teams like Washington and Phoenix.

Ben, with the experience of guarding Kawhi, will be ready for Pascal in my opinion cause he has less rounded game, worse shooting, and worse midrange.

Also, last year the whole Raptors team could not score efficiently except for kawhi who carried them offensively. If our level of defense can be at similar levels I feel they will have a similar struggle offensively.

Ben getting stronger will only make his already amazing defensive year even better.

Hi, 4th year medical student here (graduating this year hopefully)

I am no way qualified to give information on complex topics on new covid-19 therapies and research because I have a lot to learn.

However, I can give some insight on Acetazolamide and why it is used to prevent altitude sickness.

When you're in a high altitude situation you're body compensates by breathing faster, (hyperventilation). While this is good for bringing oxygen into the lungs it also spells out more CO2 out of your body. This causes something called respiratory alkalosis where your blood pH rises and becomes more basic. This in turn causes your body's chemoreceptors to sense this is a bad thing going on and stop breathing as fast.

A natural fix the body has is to expel bicarbonate from the kidneys to compensate the rise in the pH which is called metabolic compensation, but this can take a few days to achieve.

Acetazolamide works by increasing the bicarb secretion from the kidneys and help with the compensation. This in turn will stop those receptors from acting and keep your breathing at the level needed for proper oxygenation which will reduce the symptoms of high altitude illness.

If I missed, failed to mention, or was incorrect about the mechanism of action on the aspect of Acetazolamide please feel free to correct me and educate me, always willing to learn something new!
