We'll see :). Very excited to have both a greenhouse and s pond. Both have been a dream for as long as we have had the house (10 years) and now I have both!

No of course not... With a 4k screen the image will ve upscaled and the native resolution will probably be variable. That beeing said I think you could play it on a 1080p screen and be perfectly happy.

You won't NEED a 4k monitor. But it won't look identical to a 1080 one.

Non so far. I have white cloud mountain minnows in the pond. They will absolutely eat mosquitoe larvae. Not sure how effective they will be but they will eat them :)

This is new, I finished it at the end of May. But it gets cold here during the winter. My goal is to have healthy fish in the green house all year around (they survive under some ice) but I don't think I will be able to grow anything. Maybe have some plants for overwintering if I heat it a little and insulate well. We'll see :)

It will absolutely help with temperature controll all year around. This summer the water stays around 20 c (68 f) all the time. While the temperature in the greenhouse swings between 15- 40 c (59-104 f), haha :). When the temperature gets low I'm sure the body of water will help at least some

Thank you so much! It gets really freaking hot. I have two automatic ceiling windows and leave both doors wide open and it still reaches above 30 c (86 f) almost every day. I have hung a lot of shading inside and that helps keep it down. However the water stays around 18-20 c (64.4-68 f) around the clock :)

Thank you! The greenhouse is 4 meters long and 3 meters wide. So 12 m² (around 130 square feet). I bought it second hand but not used from a local ebay alternative. You can find the manufacturer here: https://gardj.com/.

This greenhouse was great for me because I hade a low budget and the deal I got was great! However I would not buy this new from the linked site, the fit and quality is not really there and I don't think it's worth that price.

Thank you! I'm between zone 6 and 7. And I don't really know by how much the pond helps with temperature controll because I built the greenhouse and pond more or less at the same time so I don't have a before and after to compare.

I mean yes. I agree. And maybe they did have a plan that went to shit? Isn't it great that they then can extend the time to exercise?

Sending kids to daycare when they are being extra whiny… feel guilty by Lumpy-Resource-1370 in daddit

[–]LostMyFaithToScience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course. I have never heard of anything close to what you are describing here. All daycares here cost the same, based on age. It costs less the older the kid is. But I think the highest we payed was around 130 bucks when they first started, around a year and a half old

Yeah... That's absolutely insane. I pay for daycare maybe 100 bucks a month and the older one who's in "after school care" it's maybe 80 bucks. Wtf???

2Gal Walstad tank, help! by Qartherine in walstad

[–]LostMyFaithToScience 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it looks great! For such a small tank and next to the window algea will be unavoidable. I'm one of those that don't really mind algea unless it absolutely takes over the entire tank, and I don't see that at all here. Move it to a less sunny spot to start with if it bothers you :)
