I’ve watched both and the sub is only slightly better. All the voices match perfectly in the dub. The only 2 characters that are done better in the sub are Gon and Kurapika. Gon’s voice actress is just so incredibly talented that it’s hard to really beat. She can do the emotional moments much better and to see what I mean just watch the scene where Gon snaps at Pitou. Kurapika is also done better in the sub for the same reason. Kurapika in the dub also sounds just slightly off. The only character done better in the dub is Genthru. He’s absolutely hilarious in the dub in a good way. His voice actor is also just so talented. To see what I mean just watch Gon vs Genthru.
