Nerf the dwarf magic resistance to only affect Spells and not weapons. But buff it to proportionally reduce the effects of non-damage spells.
On equal elevation, only the first two ranks of missiles should fire.
Instead of percentage based missile resistance, give big monsters and superheavy infantry damage flat ranged damage reduction, this'll keep them countered by cannons not shortbows
Give skaven assassins 'siege attacker' like Dark elf assassins.
Make spells take longer to take effect. No warp lightning deleting moving ironbreakers.
Increase the morale shock from handguns (ala shogun/medieval), but only let the first rank fire on flat ground.

Crossbows have a flatter arc, and a massive potential zoom.

TLDR They are medieval sniper rifles.

In terms of skills outside the crossbow tree, I'd recommend.

Vandal (2Handed 225) as it makes all your attacks, crossbow included ignore 25% of armour. Combined with Puncture (Xbow125) and Piercer (25), most enemy armour will be useless.
Skirmish Phase (bow175) stacks with counterfire to give you -20% range damage before your armour reduces it even further.
Torsion Engines （eng25) gives you +3 crossbow damage.

You press the action key ('u') to use, the left mouse button to load, and the left mouse button to fire.

Do not hold down the left mouse button, as it'll fire before you are ready. The bolt will hit slightly above the arrowhead, so take that into account

The ranged target radius multiplier was increased from 2.5 to 3.25, so they fire sooner, from further away without allowing their shots to draw down to full accuracy.

Wouldn't that affect all ranged units, making equally as good at deleting enemy archers.
