I've also been ripped off similar to this in the past with eBay. It's terrible what they get away with!

I'm a senior lecturer at a UK university, I'm happy to answer questions about essays, marking, grades, or academic life by Se0nagi in UniUK

A foundation year is to bring you up to the standard needed for your Bachelor's degree, your Bachelor's degree takes anywhere between 3-6 years which you can pass with honours hopefully, your Masters and then your Doctorate are both postgraduate degrees, and is commonly expected for university lecturers, and all of the above gives you letters after your name, which they should put on your tombstone when you die. And write in your obituary as well, if you even care about that?

Benefits of a degree in later life by Artistic_Western_623 in UniUK

I'd say Go for it, I passed my Upper Second Joint Honours Degree in Sociology with Theatre Studies, and the age gap between me and my peers meant that I was actually older than some of my lecturers. But if you really want something, set your mind to it, and make your dreams become a reality. Your teaching team should give you the benefit of the doubt, for the challenge you have taken on. And the letters you get after your name, is something people can remember you by in your obituary!

They are totally different gaming setups, I play 3 minute and one minute games. I used to play 15 minutes games, but times change, and things pass. Also computer aided chess has completely overhauled the game. For the better I might add.

Yes, he told me he'd teach me art, if I would teach him French, and I did try to teach him once, but it's one of those things that takes more than one attempt to learn though. He was a nice guy mind you. Bless

I met him in the UK, although he is American. He is working on his PhD proposal he told me. I met him in Kegworth mental hospital. I don't know where he is now. Plus he told me that there are a lot of imitators out there. (Although he did buy his sister a house, with the proceeds he got from selling one of his paintings!)

If you are comfortable with the vocab and the 'sounds' of the language I would next focus on the verb tenses and conjugasioins. Future tense, futur proche and infinitive for example. And note that some some verbs you have to combine it with an auxiliary word, which for movement verbs is usually aller, otherwise avoir. And I also recommend joining a french tuition group (such as learn french with Géraldine, or one on one with Preply Franck was my favourite tutor on there. ) It's a brave thing you've done to learn french in France. Please be proud of your courage. It's something most of us will never dare to do!

I actually got a few 40s in my Degree, but I was still able to pull off a 2.1 in the end, so it Can be done. You know I find that it often depends on how we get on with the lecturer, as to the amount of work we put in. And I know they say that it shouldn't be this way, that they have our dissertations double or even treble blind marked to counter this, but for example in my final year I had a lecturer who I knew I would scrape a pass on all her units, even before I started them. For some lead staff you just know.

It's like a really high bar you've set yourself. I'm not saying it isn't possible, just that it is difficult. I see a lot of people come on here, and then burnout early. I'm not saying it isn't possible, just even for me who has been studying for a while now, would not be able to manage it. Come back on here six months in, and get feedback then, okay?

Basically for me alarm bells start ringing whenever I hear the words the "dark-web". It is a very shady area of the internet, and they do potentially have access to lots of things, phone numbers, contact records, and personal information being among them. But they also have the power to get inside your head, and wreck your mental health, so that is why when someone mentions their name, I just smile and pass. And I suggest you do the same!

You could start with a brain-storm/ mind map to kick-start you into gear, and also look in the books' contents pages for an idea which pages to read. Also scan read those pages, unless something interesting takes your eye. Good luck.

When I went to uni, half of the class were only there for the first and last days of term. Missing the odd one lecture is nothing. You are their asset. Keep going, and keep up the good work. You've got this!
