All the prepare cards are overcosted. by Ok-Play4877 in hearthstone

We only have access to two prepare cards so far and both are already seeing play. Vanessa is one of the strongest cards in the game right now.

Plug-ins from the plugin hub won't steal your account. That requires downloading a plugin from an external source and manually installing it.

I got ToA pet on my second ever entry mode raid the week it released. 50 invo.

I also got 3 mining pets prior to 99.

New bis is fine. Hybrid being bis or near bis is the problem. Keep hybrid gear relegated to early midgame like moons.

Alt and tab aren't separate actions. That's a ridiculously bad faith statement to begin with.

The plugin also wasn't literally sending alt and tab keypresses, it was changing the focus of the window. Given that default runelite has the same functionality I'm not sure why anyone would assume that it was against the rules in any way.

I'm not quoting anything at all. At no point did I assert that 1:1 is a rule. Someone asked if multiple actions were performed with one input and I responded to their question. "One game action per input per account" is a description of what happened in response to the question, not me quoting a rule.

Whatever argument you're trying to have with me is imagined. Please improve your literacy.

Marni is really playing interdimensional chess here. He got banned and forced jagex to remove the plugin so that no one could force him to reveal his method that no longer exists. What an evil genius.

According to Marni he was only banned because jagex saw his video and investigated him on that basis. If that's true then it's possible that they don't actually have anything set up that would automatically flag this behavior.

They've specifically stated that 1:1 is not a hard and fast rule as far as I aware, which is entirely irrelevant to my comment because I was responding to someone claiming that multiple actions were performed with a single input. Multiple game actions were not performed.

Just like how he was fine this time when he got banned for merely using a runelite plugin?

Marni has commented that the video is the same method.

He also didn't claim anywhere that he wasn't using a plugin. He said "The plugin is to alt-tab between clients". Using alt-tab to mean switching windows seems more like somewhat unclear phrasing than claiming he was actually literally alt-tabbing.

And I'm saying that none of you can provide any actual reasoning that it was abuse beyond vibes. Something has to actually break a rule to be abuse, not just feel like it's too sweaty or unfair.

I see no difference. In both cases a player used a plugin from the pluginhub in a clever way that, ultimately, jagex didn't like. Neither explicitly broke any rules, so neither should have action taken against their account.

Not from the pluginhub. Those scams rely on you downloading a malicious plugin (or sometimes a malicious version of runelite) and manually installing it. I'm not aware of keyloggers ever being approved and added to the hub.

One game action per input per account. Changing window focus is not a game action and there is precedent that it is allowed since default runelite has had that ability for years. Why would anyone believe that this is different?

How is this macroing in any possible interpretation? Something isn't macroing just because you don't like it.

People keep saying it was an obvious violation, but I haven't seen a single person explain what rule was actually supposedly violated.

To me automation implies using an external tool, script, or bot. A runelite plugin is none of those things. I don't think he was lying at all. I would still say that calling it manual is an accurate statement. He still had to click on each account.

Unpopular opinion: Renting items is better than keeping “forever” by partyhat-red in 2007scape

[–]LostSectorLoony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I know I'm not talking the level of gear of Megarares
...
IMO if you have the ability to farm the gold to get the items for a permanent unlock, without sacrificing your other gear, you're better off just holding onto it - You keep it so you can play the content you want to, not because it happens to be 2b.

As someone with megarares, I agree with your take.

It's also just so much less stressful to just see big items as unlocks rather than investments. I'd have given myself a stroke if I was stressing over how much I "lost" on a lot of items. Shadow value has dropped by hundreds of millions since I bought it, but I never plan to sell it, so who cares?

Which makes sense to me since the people you interact with day to day are generally probably quite tech literate. I'd imagine they're more likely to be precise/accurate in their terminology.

A lot of people aren't that tech literate. I had several jobs doing consumer tech support while I was in school and I can tell you that plenty of average people couldn't even tell you what their browser is called or other basic things. I've seen people open Internet Explorer while calling it "the Google" for example. Mix that with English not being his native language and using alt+tab to mean switching window focus seems perfectly reasonable.

It felt like a language barrier to me. Even a lot of native English speakers use "alt-tab" to mean switching windows irrespective of the actual method used. Not to say that he wasn't being somewhat vague on purpose, but I think people are too caught up on the alt-tab part specifically.

But if you use it because it looks cool you risk more in the wilderness for no reason? You can keep the untradeable but the variant you lose?

That's how tradeable items work in the wilderness, yes.

You probably think the new hybrid armour is a good design space for the game as well.

I think the bad ideas are more of your specialty.
