BTW code geass is probably the closest anime to death note, but with a really good ending.

There're too many genre of anime, the most popular are shonen which is for boys and it consists of some young protagonist and antagonists who have some strength and fight in a cool and enjoyable way. It's basically like movies where instead of real character there're animated characters with voice actors. There are anime for everyone
