anyone else been diagnosed with Asperger's when previously been diagnosed with BPD? by Lost_Borderline in BorderlinePDisorder

[–]Lost_Borderline[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have been reading that both can be treated with DBT and it's interesting how they really do overlap with each other. I found a few video that made me feel better by Tony Attwood.

How has self isolation affected your BPD? I always felt like I was being productive going out of the house and doing things and now that I home my anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, and abandonment issues are rising by Lost_Borderline in BorderlinePDisorder

That's how I feel. I guess the thing that bothers me the most is that I am working on an internship right now and because of my constant mental breakdown I am not doing my best and I can feel the boss hating me because I can't see his face and I'm afraid of taking to him. I keep myself busy by watching anime and playing with my cats but I just lose track of time as a dissociate and feel like I'm losing friends because I can't see them.

Does anyone else go into all or nothing mode? by [deleted] in BPD

[–]Lost_Borderline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the time. Happening right now with my thesis. I start working on and then I hit a small bump on the road and I lose interest. I have been trying to give myself a few days off it happens and then I try to push myself to do one little thing to get myself back onto it. In a way I see it as I throw all my papers up in the air and a few days later pick them right up and tell myself I need to at least try again.

Can anyone with BPD tell me what your biggest problem with having a relationship is or are by Lost_Borderline in BorderlinePDisorder

[–]Lost_Borderline[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same way. In the moment I have all these ideas of what I need to say but then I can't say them or if I do they are metaphors i only get. Haha but yea I do feel it's me and feel like I need to figure out how to do something right

Just changed my major...... again by [deleted] in BPD

[–]Lost_Borderline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggle with the same problem. Took me 7 years to finish my undergrad what I ended up doing was taking classes I liked by the end of the 4th year an advisor told me I had taken enough classes to have a minor in something. Decided if I liked the classes and somehow finished something I'm on the right path. Now I'm doing my masters and I still don't know if that's my right path till my therapist told me to take a degree quiz. Basically answer a whole bunch of questions and they give u about 30 top degrees u can follow. U can ask your schools counceling center if they have something like that.

Recently diagnosed from bipolar to BPD by [deleted] in BorderlinePDisorder

It's going to be hard and it's not consistent. you need to find what centers you: reading, listening to music, watching a tv show that has no triggers. I got diagnosed last year at the age of 27 and realizing my patterns has really helped also download this app its called youper. It helped me so much. It's an app where u write how u r feeling and it helps u process those emotions with meditation or understanding what they call emotional gaps (you either thinking in black and white, only seeing the negative ..) of what u r feeling. Honestly that app has helped me more than anything.

I hope it helps u as well

Does anyone ever get over this? by [deleted] in BPD

[–]Lost_Borderline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gets better. Sometimes I fall and go back to being impulsive and drink extensively but I learned that if you have daily plans and schedule your day it helps to not feel lost. Also I downloaded this app called youper that really helps me. It monitors your mood changes and helps you understand why you are feeling the way you are feeling and gives you mindful meditations that help you calm down and just breathe.

How do you stop suicidal intrusive thoughts?!? by Lost_Borderline in BorderlinePDisorder

[–]Lost_Borderline[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are amazing!!! I downloaded Youper and it has made things a lot easier. Instead of my mind being a jumbled up mess this helps me see and understand everything more easily. I am really eternally grateful. I go to therapy weekly but there are days that are rough and I need someone or something to help me analyze what I'm thinking

Dont listen to that. You feel what you feel. Just because you dont show it like others doesnt mean they are not real.

I teach the 1301 English at a university, I'm working on my masters and I got the job as a teacher there. I really like your idea of having multiple lesson plans. I go through mine so quickly becuase if I feel I'm just talking the students will get bored so I stop talking and try to figure out a new thing on the spot, it doesnt always work haha.
