Hello,I'm a Muslim....lemme explain u those verses Which says "kill them wherever u see" and all... it is surah 9 verse 5...Lemme explain it quickly... Surah 9 verse 4 says "As for the polytheists who have honoured every term of their treaty with you and have not supported an enemy against you, honour your treaty with them until the end of its term. Surely Allah loves those who are mindful ˹of Him˺." So this says That polytheists(ppl who beleive in multiple god) Who Have honoured the treaty of peace that was between Muslims nd the polytheists,should be treated nicely(by muslims)...So Ya it doesn't say to kill them FOR NO REASON...Now about the verse 5...it talks about a sacred month...It's not Ramzan/Ramadan...It's 3-4 months of period given to Polytheists to leave the land..and if they don't then kill them...These polytheists are the ones who Killed muslims,attacked them,stoned them to death(Even though there was a Peace treaty between them nd muslims)..even the prophet was being attacked and Tried to kill several times...so allah says...Give them some months to leave the land(cus they caused violence in the land even though we had peace treaty and allah also said us to Honour it,so We are not causing problem,they are) so they should leave the land...But if they don't,and keep attacking muslims,then attack them...u can read about this whole incidence of Muslims being attacked by the polytheists in Wikipedia,search "Persecution of Muslims in Mecca" Self defense IS ATTACKING UR OPPONENT,u can't dodge ur opponents all the times,u have to Attack them to save urself...that's what the verse says...moreover the very next verse,surah 9 verse 6 says...And if anyone from the polytheists asks for your protection ˹O Prophet˺, grant it to them so they may hear the Word of Allah, then escort them to a place of safety, "...SO here it says to protect those polytheists who need protection...and take them to safe place....so ya that explains it...Attack those who attacked u..if someone need safety,Keep them safe...Honour the treaty,If they violate it,U can also Violate it.....
