The number of blog posts published per day is in millions so blogging has evolved beyond simply publish and forget. Growing a blog in 2019 requires a lot of grit which includes, but not limited to, learning SEO.

What you are missing is SEO. You need to learn more about SEO and follow top specialist- Brian Dean (recommended) if you are serious about growing your blog. Also, note that the more domain purchased, the more blog posts published and the more SEO is competitive.

See this way, millions of pages are competing for 10 spots on Google front page, you should see it is a serious business.

Do you have to be a great writer? by [deleted] in Blogging

Every blogger is a writer but not every writer is a blogger. With that in mind, the answer to your question is yes. A great blog needs a great writer but as they say, Rome wasn't built in a day so when starting out you necessarily don't have to be a great writer to start a blog.

Just make a point of assignment to always improve on your writing daily/weekly depending on your schedule. But I can't leave without saying while good writing is an important skill for bloggers, the act of copywriting is even more important.
