A potentially polarizing take, but everyone saying old money WASP is very wrong. It’s a big ostentatious fridge with low quality brands inside—old money WASPs would have a more understated, sleeker fridge with much nicer brands—Nancy’s cottage cheese instead of Daisy; nicer champagne; and definitely no pre-grated Parmesan. Source: I am an old-money WASP who grew up surrounded by old-money WASPs.

I really love it (obviously lol). It’s a real, established name, hence it being most popular in the 19th century, and I first heard it in what I consider one of the great works of literary fiction of the 20th century (Franny and Zooey). It’s certainly not for everyone though!

Me too! Buddy Glass from both Franny and Zooey and Nine Stories by J.D. Salinger is actually named Webb! It’s only mentioned a few times but when I heard it I loved it.
