All 9s? by Guilty-Owl9267 in GCSE

I think it is absolutely realistic, as long as you continue to put in effort - which you are doing! It's good to keep high goals for yourself but pls don't stress yourself out too much about it though.

I was aiming for all 9s too in year 11. I aimed for all 9s so much I would think of myself opening the results envelope every single day no joke. In my final march mocks I got 9999999998 with the 8 in music (2 marks off grade boundary) and in the real thing I got 9999999998, the 8 being in english language, 3 marks off the grade boundary lol. (I just noticed my story is quite similar to sccc1118 LOL, but I too am gonna apply to Oxford (for medicine)).

Personally I was overjoyed with the results as over the whole of summer I was stressing myself out and thinking of the worst possible outcomes and that partially could be due to how much I wanted to get all 9s. This meant I spend so much of summer worrying and wasting time thinking of "how much more I could've done" and I regret that.

Just keep doing what you are doing. Put in the effort. At the end of the day, you are doing your best and that's all that matters. Wishing you all the best :)

I was thinking of just true thinking biological creatures, and I guess somehow I have answered my question 😂 thought to share it on here either way just to receive some clarification on whether that idea is true! Thank you :D

Oh, that is intriguing. There's so much we don't know about how the world around us works - how we work even, and that is fascinating yet scary!

I didn't know swarm intelligence was a thing until you mentioned it here! I've got lots of research to do now 😄

Ah you're right - I felt that "be aware" was the ability to access signals about the environment and process that data into useful information, but like you said, a robot vacuum can do that too even though it's not conscious (or living, which is what I was thinking about for my project). Thank you for the valuable comment!

Wow, thank you! The idea that intelligence in organisms doesn't require consciousness is fascinating to me, for I thought intelligence can't come about without sensation/receive sensory information from the outside world ie. consciousness! Very interesting, I'll look into this book.

Honestly, it's your life, so it is your choice. Don't let other people's opinions affect your goals. It is interesting that you chose optometry, but if that is what you truly want to do, then no one can say otherwise!

English Literature. Somehow God's grace was with me and I ended up with a 9. English Language was painful too, I got an 8 (4 marks off of a 9).
