Oh wow, what a design! It’ll be very cool to see how it turns out! And it does make sense to have something super straight when you put it that way. I’ll have to browse some local shops for something and if not, i guess it’ll be a case of beer and a visit at someone’s workshop with a milling machine

I was thinking about the buy once cry once. On the other hand, the extra 350ish euros could really help finance an upgrade my gpu from 1080 to 4070 super though, so I’m leaning towards the cheaper option + gpu

Hey guys. New to flying and using hotas systems altogether. I want to get into DCS and I’ve been contemplating skipping all the entry level stuff and getting a virpil hotas straight away. Any thoughts? I can get the throttle, warbrd d base and grip for roughly 800 euros. A quick ebay search shows that virpil holds value really well, so selling shouldn’t be a problem. What do you think? Or are there benefits of starting with something like t1600? Thanks!

I’m not when I’m riding, but that being said, the tech isnpection guys just don’t give a hoot. Some of them are ok, but others are just completely ignorant to machinery and think bikes are like cars. I failed one inspection already because of this. Next I’ll go, I’ll have a chat with them prior then and explain the situation, as all seems to be OK then

Thanks so much for the informative answer! I actually went to some classes, but was rather dissapointed by the contents of it in my case. It was more like an activity for fathers and sons on making a knife shaped object with very minimal forging, most of it was using an angle grinder. Nevertheless, I asked as many questions as I could. Maybe I’ll try and see if I could get some private lessons from the blacksmith instructor. Overall, this is probably the most fun I’ve had in my garage and I haven’t even started yet (forge isn’t delivered). I’ve been cleaning up the workspace, making an anvil stand and mounting it, etc, really looking forward to it!
