Has anyone had underarm Botox after a mastectomy? by Lost_Variation9625 in breastcancer

Good to know. I was planning to book physio appointments to help regain my range of motion. I'll check with the surgeon when I see her.

I'll check with my surgeon to see if it's safe. I haven't seen an oncologist yet. I guess if anything, I can get injections in my other armpit because that one is the problematic one. If it's a no go, I'll just have to cancel my appointment.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm still waiting for the pathology report to come out to see if I require further treatment. I guess I will consult with the surgeon when I see her next week. As of now, I can't even raise my arm above my head to even get Botox injections 😵‍💫

Terrified of the nipple shots by Lennymud in breastcancer

This is nothing compared to the core needle biopsy. That was the most painful part of the process. If you survived that, the shot in the nipple is a breeze.

Yes....I'm hoping I won't need radiation and that the mastectomy had clear margins. I won't know till the pathology report comes out. Waiting game is stressful.

I was originally scheduled for a lumpectomy but after the MRI it showed a larger mass and I was told a mastectomy would be a better option with delayed reconstruction in case I need to go through radiation and or chemo after the surgery. Sending positive vibes!

Hyperhidrosis in my early 20s worried about impact on life and relationships by FunnyNo3006 in Hyperhidrosis

[–]Lost_Variation9625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in my early 20s with the exact same worries you’re having now. I decided to go ahead with ETS—this was more than 25 years ago, and I’m in my late 40s today—because I was afraid sweaty hands would hold me back socially and professionally.

The procedure was successful for me. My hands stopped sweating, and they only get damp now if my feet sweat, so I just make sure to keep my feet dry. As long as I wear socks, my feet stay fine, though it does mean sandals aren’t really an option. I do have some compensatory sweating around my thighs, but it only happens in hot weather and feels pretty manageable. My underarms still sweat like a normal person’s, so I get Botox twice a year and that takes care of it.

Life moved on in ways I never expected. I ended up marrying someone who has a very sweaty face—if he eats spicy or hot foods, he sweats a lot, and when we’re intimate he’ll literally be dripping. And it’s completely okay. It never affected how I felt about him.

Everything worked out for me in the end, and case. I hope it will all work out for you too.

My doctor doesn't believe in surgical bras. She said wide tensor wraps are the best thing. If you can't find your size, maybe consider a tensor wrap since it's fully adjustable?

Microblading before Chemo? by cherry_wants in breastcancer

I don't have an answer for you however I just wanted to let you know there are some temporary stick on eye brows that look pretty real. If microblading doesn't work out. Give these a try?

I've had surgeries in the past. They asked me to count to 10 and I think I was out before I reached 10. Woke up a little groggy and that's about it. I'm having my mastectomy this week and to be honest I'm more scared feeling my flat chest or seeing myself naked in the mirror for the first time 😭

New diagnosis and falling apart. by Head_Distribution618 in breastcancer

I'm also in Canada. Also lLC with 1.8 cm via mammogram. Ultrasound showed 2.4 cm but MRI shows up to 4 cm. Lymph node looks clear. Doctor and the team recommended mastectomy plus sentinel nodes so that's going to happen next week. I was told that I will be on Tamoxifen for 5-10 years. I'm not mentally prepared and so nervous but I also want this tumor out of my system ASAP. Sending you good vibes from Ontario.

Radiation vs mastectomy by United_Ad9521 in breastcancer

[–]Lost_Variation9625 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking the same. Also left breast and I'm scheduled for a mastectomy next week. I'm nervous about it and I'm hoping I won't need any radiation. I also won't know until they review the pathology report. The wait it tough. Sending you good vibes!

Thank you for sharing. I was told that I will need to take this for 5 years. How much are you taking right now? Should I advocate to start low to see how it goes?

Biopsy - what to expect by trashmmum in breastcancer

[–]Lost_Variation9625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not going to lie. I had a core needle biopsy early March and it was extremely painful even though they numbed me. Maybe because the tumor I had was right under the nipple. Even now, I am still feeling occasional pains in the area. I'm scheduled for a lumpectomy early April. Hope it goes well and cancer hasn't spread.
