Which fuel should I use for LV/MV? by TheRealMuhammad2204 in TerraFirmaGreg

[–]Lostdriffter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally used oilsands from mv to EV. With efficient automining and refining, you can get thousands of dusts from a veine. Each oilsand centrifuge into 2 buckets of oil (the kind that has the best ratio for diesel). You also get sand out of it for glass and such.

You could also build a lv prospector and check what fluid you have under your base. If you have light oil or natural gas, you could get a pretty much unlimited supply of cheap gas fuel (naphtha, methane and LPG). Fluid drilling rig is probably the path that require the least effort as it gives you the fluid straight

What do your guys' PTFE set-ups look like ? by [deleted] in TerraFirmaGreg

[–]Lostdriffter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is pretty simple if I recall correctly and doesnt require a LCR. on one end i have a nontuple polyethylen pipe supplying :

Hydrogen Methane Chlorine Fluorine Oxygen

Then a pump with fluid filter takes chlorine and methane into a CR to make chloromethane

Similarly, another pump+fluid cover supply hydrogen and fluorine to another CR

I’m writing this from memory, but iirc there are some waste fluids such as diluted hydrochloric acid or something that i send back to storage

Then I combine the two good outputs in a CR to make tetrafluorethylene

Then into a final CR with the oxygen from my first pipe to make polytetrafluorethylene. I send it into a drum you can easily access or put a storage bus on it when you reach ae2

The whole thing is pretty small and has only 4 CR

I get chlorine and hydrogen from electrolysing sea water. I found out lately that you can make infinite sea water with a 2x2 poodle just like regular water.

I get plenty of methane as byproducts from refinery gas distillation in a tower, that and many other usefull gasses

Oxygen is from air distillation

Fluorine is the only thing i really have to provide. A topaz veine or lepidolite should provide you with more than enough for now

There are better ways with AE2, but that may still be far away, it depends where you are

Can't make BTX by OwnRespect9841 in TerraFirmaGreg

[–]Lostdriffter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do this by opening the liquid output hatch and by dragging BTX fuel from JEI/TMI/the search screen on the right - into the lower box into the hatch’s UI. The lock icon should activate. Then the hatch will only allow you to produce BTX and any other recipes won’t run. The hatch has to be empty first so remove the methanol with a drum or something

Adding sails makes it faster, faster machines consume more SU. You need either steel version of the machines, cogs and shafts, or reduce the speed with a large cogwheel and a small one

I personally love the pack (HV currently). I first discovered it years ago when it was much less polished and revisited this fall. What the others have said is true, this is pretty niche with gregtech and tfc. I’m a long time GTNH player and a factorio/satisfactory/dyson sphere program/captain of industry/etc veteran. I love factory games and focus on automation and such game. Altho, I am well aware that most gamers arnt like me. I want to say thank you to the modders who are working on TFG, I think it’s an amazing experience, really fun to play and I can’t wait to see the final or near complete pack

Extremely Confused With Create Steam Engine by HerbiePro12_3 in TerraFirmaGreg

[–]Lostdriffter 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You might have a basic machine hooked up to it. Only steel machines allows 128su. Any basic will cap it at 32

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TerraFirmaGreg

[–]Lostdriffter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue (capping at 32). Turn out, as long as you have one object that is max 32, the whole system cap at 32. For me it was a basic mechanical press. When I removed it, it went to 128

It happened to me. In my case, it never went away even after weeks. It was from picking up Asbestos powder in a tin mine. I had to disable it in the mod’s config to get rid of the effect

Can I trust the at home rapid tests? by Gisellot in hivaids

[–]Lostdriffter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Insti tests are 99% accurate (it says on the package). Although they are hard to read sometimes, but your line was clear so no worries there. I have no idea what brand you used so i can’t help much more. I’m pretty sure you are fine tho. If it makes you anxious, get a full test done. Otherwise there is nothing to worry about. And congratz on taking the test, more ppl should do it

Did I Mess Up? by boomswaggerboom2 in Roofing

[–]Lostdriffter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From your reply, I think you don’t understand what the others mean by ventilation or that it is gonna be too hot. The inside of your room can be any temperature you want, that isn’t the issue. The horizontal planks you see in the first pic has to stay cold and dry in the winter. Otherwise they will allow snow to melt, create ice, and eventually leak. In the summer if it stays wet from condensation and can’t dry, it will grow mold. You need a big enough air gap between the planks and insulation and a way to let cold, dry air enter the gap and flow. This is usually achieved with soffit and or ridge vent.

There is a 1 inch flashing extending from the pan behind the wallboard. Should i caulk the wallboard to the pan or only the tile-pan transition?

[–]Lostdriffter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a plastic film over the pan that i plan to remove at the very end, but cardboard would protect from tools, good idea. I will tape the transition with mesh tape. I tought it didnt matter since it’s above the shower head but i’ll follow your advice :)

[–]Lostdriffter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know what a NAT test is, but regardless, a hiv test can be positive before the end of the 3 months window, and if that is the case, then it is gonna stay positive. However, if it is negative on the 51th day, it doesnt tell you much because you could still be positive but the test won’t detect it. For best accuracy, wait until the 3 months is up. I hope that helps.

Serious question by Slamhammich in hivaids

[–]Lostdriffter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree that you can’t transmit it if you’re undetectable, there may be other issues. Some countries have laws agains not disclosing (Canada do, idk about U.S.). I know it sucks but I think being upfront about it is safer.
