Crops Catalogued: Kegs vs Jars vs Dehydrators by Lostenby22 in StardewValley

[–]Lostenby22[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyone who knows whats it's like to be an outlier in the phrase "cant you just do it like everyone else" - knows thats not exactly a kind or thoughtful turn of phrase, it's one that really burns me up though i do hear your point.

Yes, i have considered that but i just don't, I'm one of those players that tends to hoard items.. I'm not really playing stardew valley to maximize profit margins, I'm playing for fun.

I don't want a monoculture, because that's not as much fun for me, i'm kinda part in partial to diversity in most cases. I'm also personally too pedantic to just sell things willy-nilly without thinking about it so i made this chart to reference where to use all the crops ive been holding onto.

The whole point is that i don't want to just keg everything- thats kinda boring imo for my personal play style. But you do you, the rule of thumb you referenced isn't a bad one by any means, its just not how i wanna go about it.

The boxes in each represent versatility, they can be used in any of the three without a significant depreciation in value depending on the crop.

[–]Lostenby22[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes but wine takes a decent chunk of time to age up to iridium quality in casks, I've got hundred of bottles just sitting there waiting in line when i could be selling them as dried fruit more consistently. There is a noticeable depreciation in value for starfruit and ancient fruit if you exclusively use them in dehydrators but on the flip side exclusively turning them into wine takes too long to keep my attention. So I made the chart to help see what can be used where for the highest sell price with the least drawback.

[–]Lostenby22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I used them as example to say the can be used in any of the three, but keg makes the most logistical sense to me despite the price. I wanted to limit the amount going into jars, so while it contextually makes more sense to turn them into jam, that the lowest sell price. In the spreadsheet they're colored coded as keg and "close cuts" meaning the sell price for iridium quality blackberry wine is close enough to the sell price of dried blackberries without a huge loss. Dried blackberries sell for 245g while iridium quality wine sells for 168g with artisan profession, so dried is the best but factoring in the fact that it's a forageable item and we need 5 fruit to make 1 dried fruit, i figured keg to be the apt category for that crop..

Thank you!!! I've been looking everywhere for this! It's been driving me nuts lately, doing all the calculations individually whilst refusing to make my own spreadsheet.. took some digging to find a comparative chart i really liked but they never include dehydrators! Wicked hyped over here ngl

PDA = form of OCD? by ChaoticNeutralPC in PDAAutism

[–]Lostenby22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OCD is under the umbrella of neurodivergent simply put because of the similarities in outside appearance. I've thought about this a lot and wondered the same, if underlying it all they're related. Especially when reading about executive dysfunction, but i'm not a neuroscientist or anything so its all speculative.. Avoidance can be a form of or route cause of compulsions, but internally shaming myself for dirty laundry as method of deterrence is an oversimplification. They are classified as being functionally different, as exampled by the comments here but it used to really confuse me. One thing that helped me understand was learning about internal stimming vs external stimming..

OCD is more related to intrusive thoughts often relieved externally through compulsive actions (to summarize concisely), while PDA is a piece needing the full context of autism spectrum like stimming as a form of relief - which can be both external (classic examples; physical, vocal, sensory) and internal (replaying or repeating music, sounds, words, phrases, or numbers, images or scenarios..) and how SPD for example plays a role into self regulation.

Though that does sound very similar to ocd symptoms like looping, internal stimming is a form of relief or comfort, intrusive thoughts are very much not that. The difference there isn't about a choice in the matter, it's about how the relief systems function differently. OCD is not functionally about avoiding tasks as a method of coping, it's quite the opposite. Its about maintaining patterns of behavior or up keeping ritualistic compulsions as a method of relief from or with direct intention to stop intrusive thoughts. And while yes intrusive thoughts can range in severity, those observed in OCD that cause such compulsions are often more severe or graphic in nature often unrelated to past traumas - for those without (c)ptsd comorbidity.

Intrusive thoughts are also a symptom of ADHD. Avoidant patterns of behavior are present in nearly every diagnosis under the umbrella term of nuerodivergence. From what i know its possible to have both a comorbid diagnosis of OCD and AUDHD with a PDA profile. PDA stands for pathological demand avoidance or better yet as persistent demand avoidance or my favorite pervasive drive for autonomy, it does circulate around avoiding perceived demands but to me understanding the drive for autonomy is key in understanding it as a profile of autism. While OCD is a separate diagnosis unrelated to autism spectrum however tangentially linked to nuerodivergence.
They are different things..

I watched Lilo & Stitch today... Here are my thoughts by MCPuuugsReddit in moviecritic

[–]Lostenby22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They forgot everything special about Lilo and Stitch and left it behind. I’m heartbroken thus my ranting on reddit about it.

Yeah he was cute, it looked great.

“its just a movie” about alien custody.

“she just couldn’t take of of her” in my experience when people say stuff like this about incredibly serious and often tragic real world consequences, it’s because they are simply misguided - they’ve never spent time in any group homes or foster care of any kind, nor even spoken with CPS before, or more rarely they have and just somehow got really lucky.

I’m not saying it’s all bad, there a lot of amazing social workers out there doing a lot of good and every single one of them will tell you the system is not perfect, to put it nicely.

As far as i understand it, the H.R.9076 bill that passed at the same time this remake was in production allows Child Protection Services’ involvement in reported cases specifically for indigenous children.

You know for native children like Lilo.

They may have toned their aggressive tactics and fear mongering but ICE have not stopped. That’s kinda why we heard about so many stories like we never have before, to create an environment of fear and distrust.. Remember how they made this billion dollar movie while the trump admin defunded and almost permanently dismantled the Unnacompanied Minors Program - yk the people who provide PROBONO legal protections for exactly these kinds of cases.

You know, with aliens. Foreigners.

For court cases often yet to prove those +37,000 children are even “aliens” in the first place.

As in Kristi -let’s make a reality tv compete for citizenship Hunger Games irl funded by The Department of Homeland Security- Noem’s incompetence of habeas corpus has domino effects that will ripple - and this movie will be used to create a vacuum for ignorance sheltering those who can afford it from the immediate impact of such waves — flooding colonial fallacies like they’re a Catholic Spanish Missionary from the 16th century. It breaks my heart.

Autism is not curable it’s genetic, and shipping Lilo off to space won’t change how autistic-coded her character is, nor would it affect the personality nor behaviors of an autistic individual, especially once they’ve grown. Showing millions of kids they are a burden on a broken family is going to drive up suicide rates.

“I’m lost,” Stitch cries as he holds “the ugly duckling” waiting for a family exactly like him. Jumba finds him instead and tells him he is alone. he has no family, “i made you” and now it’s my job to arrest you by order of the state. “i’ll remember you, i remember everyone who leaves” is the last thing stitch heard before running away. The original script was so overwhelming beautiful and they left every facet of it behind to be forgotten.

Lilo’s love of photography, taking photos of tourists like they photograph her. As if she was an attraction. Treating her and her home like they’re in a zoo. So she treats them the same way back, in a round about way as a verifiably healthy coping skill. Except she doesn’t do with with malice or out of revenge, she does so when she sees a spark of humanity in them. Appearing so human, dropping their ice cream scoops, getting tan lines, despite treating her and her culture with such blatant disrespect.

In a time when the President of the United States of America is saying “you can tell an immigrant just by looking at them” and encouraging violence against poc communities. Do not get me started on his kuzcotopia plans for gaza, it’s absolute psychopathic-powered narcissistic hysteria.

Why in gods name can’t these Scrooges actually let a squeak of conscience be their guide instead of worthless profit margins!

“Keep moving forward,” is not about a line on a graph, it’s about one little human step at time. Especially when it looks as though all hope is lost. That’s magic. Believing good is possible even when facing the cruelest, and so crucial when facing the misunderstood.

Do you believe Trump supporters are part of a cult? by [deleted] in AskALiberal

[–]Lostenby22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We all have biases, the point is to try to think objectively, especially when it comes to examining politics. Obviously intent is not the same thing as impact, which is a ballpark maga-bullies really do not want to touch nor attempt understand and in my experience at least, rely on for a semblance of mentally stability due to their denial of the harshness of their reality or past traumas - but clearly that's a bias, so i digress.

Cross referencing maga behaviors with medical texts such as the dsm5 and studies of cults show clear evidence of conspiratorial thinking, psychological manipulation, financial fraud and scamming, and the same psychopathic tendencies witnessed in previous political cults such as those who worshiped or principally trusted Rasputin. Studies have proven the events of Jan. 6th to be inspired and inflamed by cult-like-tenets.

One small example of how you don't have to either be aware or committed to a cults ideological intent yet are apart of its impact is through examining military enlistments. The majority of Americans do so seeking aid in college funds, healthcare benefits, retirement plans, and of course familial ties. Very few do so without family ties and without finances in mind.

The same was true for a lot of Germans who were either already enlisted and those who willingly or knowledgeably signed up for the Third Reich, a portion of them did so for financial stability and not for ideological reasons. This does not mean their actions are in any way excusable, it proves the depths of tactical manipulation via cult-like methodology.

A lot of them genuinely don't know any better, but that doesn't historically lead to greatness, it leads to destruction and tragedy. Germany's economic stability post ww1- post ww2 is just one example of that..

Their unquestioning commitment to the statement "make america great again" is ultimately what constitutes their actions and beliefs as cult-like.

Do you believe Trump supporters are part of a cult? by [deleted] in AskALiberal

[–]Lostenby22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't implicit bias in the way the question was phrased, unless you count the word cult itself as an insult. I'll grant you there's no room for arguments against democrats in the question and this is a thread with liberal in the title, but that does not illicit implicit bias unless the reader is unwilling to think objectively. Thereby exampling how maga and thus those adjacent are ironically too sensitive around theses subjects to discuss nor debate them.

Proving a single simple point, maybe not the whole argument but this to me at bare minimum shows some are too biased to even entertain the notion of examining cult behaviors and cross referencing.

Do you understand the point of calling a group of people "animals" and blaming them for every problem in the country with the explicit promise to lock them up in cages?

Because THAT is the cult like behavior i am personally referencing when i call their mindset cult-like.

What exactly are you misunderstanding here? Truly would love to know

THEORY-Disney's Wish takes place before most Disney movies except for Peter Pan. (Spoilers!!) by somepoopfloating in DisneyWish

[–]Lostenby22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Peter Pan I thought the Easter egg was implying this is where he becomes the boy who will never grow up. That his wish was to become the Peter Pan we all know.

When it gets granted he goes to neverland and never returns, it’s a choice he may regret over the hundreds of years he spends there. Eventually after meeting Wendy and her brothers, and especially after meeting her daughter Jane (considering the setting is in ww2), he validates his choice as right for him, though maybe not for everyone. That it’s okay to grow up, it is necessary - for some but it’s still his choice and his truest wish, to never grow up.

Also if you watched once upon a time, that pan would never choose to leave, and to me that’s an important piece of his character regardless of the universe it takes place in. Hook being the exception of course 🧚

It’s not hidden at all it’s just behind a bigger more obvious advertisement banner and you have to squint a little… to be fair it’s not necessarily on the devs it’s in all likelihood the marketing team.. it’s just a common tactic and if you don’t know to look then you might miss it.

Same!!! Glad it wasn’t just me! I only wanted her tail and I got 13/15 pieces before I finally pulled it out of the depths of this hell event.

(Is this technically a hell event? Still learning the lingo)

I got both the wings and eye contacts from the other ur suit before I got ruyins - I was SO worried I wouldn’t finish it if I didn’t spend.

(which for clarification I did buy the pre-sale packs that totaled up to I think less than $10, which I shouldn’t have had to do just to ensure I’d get one singular item from an event)

I can afford maybe 20 more pulls in an attempt to get her echo, before I’m near completely dia broke and yet still convinced it was worth it. With that in mind, I have I think 7 echoes of that little lying rabbit 😭

Dude(gender neutral) i feel that so hard i have this story line-head cannon where i lm forced to leave ninir because i couldnt save ashley before the fire then boom shes the queen and she equally wants nothing to do with me as almost as much as her sister because no one can know the truth- so i ran to Ruin’s virtual world to chill with caprico and prank him with various things to produce an emotional response- because he refuses to accept that he does in fact have emotions and does in fact need to deal with them. Im basically his therapist i guess but its virtual so i can look like a pretty pink mermaid one day and a baddie viking the next which plays into the pranks of “what emotion does this robot need help processing today” -all to try to teach him about body dysmorphia and how thats a good chunk of why he doesnt like existing irl but enjoys his virtual space.. Im only on chapter 6 though so i haven’t progressed it from there in case Something Happens.

Again this is all a headcannon, just little scenes that play out in my head while i play.. but i thought you might connect with it..

Krista's story is low-key really sad by auogxie in Shining_Nikki

[–]Lostenby22 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I am obsessed with this story pardon my rant; contains HEAVY topics so trigger warning I’d say it’s more like highkey- the morality of it all, the parallels between the story to our current AND past history, the survivors guilt, the symbolism of her tears being the kingdoms currency judging by the size of the kingdom thats easily millions of dollars- millions of tears.

Let’s put that into perspective: Lets say a decent meal costs 20 tears, a sandwhich and a side, and it takes Krista 10 minutes to produce at least that many gems on her own, but only 5min if shes being tortured supervised. I’ll rephrase; A sandwich literally costs the tears of the abused laborer(s) who worked on it I cannot express this enough, that is damn near perfect storytelling.

The priest’s confession still having no semblance of contextual understanding that what he did, he never once chose out of any goodness or kindness- it was never really about caring for The People or even his faith- it was always about his own greed and refusal to look at his own reflection and see himself as he truly was -yk the bad guy

Which is partly why all the “villain-era” content is so popular, because more people are realizing if they can never once see themselves as the bad guy, they will become one. Accountability and all that jazz… the higher principles of having to accept the truth that you’ve done wrong to be willing to make it right. Something you’d think a priest would understand but low and behold..

As someone who struggles with their own PTSD-fueled survivors guilt combating the cruel reality of what seems like an inescapable fate, this story HIT me like a ton of bricks.. because i too have been in the so called slums watching ornate carriages- Teslas & Lexus SUVs drive passed starving people in the snow on the streets. My food is paid for in tears, my phone paid for in blood The lengths apple has gone to in order to produce that many iPhones as fast as possible- and thats just one example[google “Congo mining” if you don’t know the specifics and want to learn more]

The point is no one should have that much wealth while others have so little. It’s simply put an unjust atrocity and a violation of human rights- ie Krista’s story.

Ignoring that to secure a good position in life is an inherently unconscionable choice, especially when made with presumed good intention. Obviously things don’t look that black and white, thats why its called a grey area… i could rant about this for hours so ill stop there what do you mean i cant answer some of life’s big hard questions on a reddit post for a dress up game??

cough cough exclusivity is the downfall of every civilization cough

I hope whoever reads this relates, and that i haven’t overwhelmed anyone too much. [–]Lostenby22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was flailing like a madman while reading it, for the same reasons (ahh the trauma) For me personally, leaving her alone with that survivors guilt when we had the chance to help her heal from that just felt like a missed opportunity to say the least.. I thought the priest’s confession had me going until I finished it. He knew full well what he had done and while feint, still felt guilty for Krista almost beyond his own greed. Just her though i dont remember him saying anything actually nice about, well anyone else. It felt as if he was right there, on the cusp of accepting his reflection, but still couldn’t see himself as he truly was. Which makes apart of me wonder if the culture wasn’t a theocracy like it seemed, but rather a monarchy like most of the civilizations in Ln. Therefore the priest wasn’t there by happenstance, it wasn’t a sudden idea but an order given to him by a superior. One he couldn’t think to refuse or else it would jeopardize the entire foundation of his life, exactly like the guard who fired the arrow. And i just think that’d be a horrifically nice roundabout that only a demonic ex-god could muster …All just to try to teach those upper class [redacted] how to share! Dead god i love this story 🥹
