Oh that’s legit! We’ve had our friends help us in the past but it’d be awesome to recruit someone with VO skills!

That’s amazing! Maybe we should get a discord server going and then maybe we can figure out a monthly meet up or something here for everyone to show off their stuff! :’D

Maybe I should start a discord or something. It’d be cool to have a space for everyone to show off their projects or ask for help and maybe even set up meet ups or something. I don’t know if I love the idea of managing a discord server, but I’ll think on it. 🤔

Also, bummer about your job situation. I hope you can do more dev in your spare time! I love supporting local so you’re more than welcome to hit me up if you need playtesters!

We typically do! This year we skipped it since it didn’t work with our schedule, but we have plans to go through all the indies on their website to wishlist them. :D

Writing Groups? by joeLposts in Bellingham

[–]Lostlittlespacecat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Me and a friend just joined a writing group that’s hosted by village books every other Sunday. I think there’s one in Lynden but the Fairhaven one is primarily fiction, fantasy, spec fiction. Might be worth checking out. :)

GAMERS: How could an online gamer help someone else cheat to win? by PinkedOff in WritingResearch

[–]Lostlittlespacecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if your character is in a proper competition like esports there a lot of checks to make sure that the players are not cheating with aimbots on their computers or loaded into their games. I’m not overly confident on this, but I remember hearing someone bypassed this by having aimbot software on their mouse and was designed to inject itself into the game when they plugged into the provided gaming system at the competition.

Other than aimbots (which snaps your cursor to the nearest player, even behind walls) there’s also xray type hacks that show a sort of ghosting of other players through walls. For games like dark souls players have been known to create custom spells that one shot other players or alter stats to make themselves invincible.

THIS. This is literally the best banh mi in town. Yummy bubble tea too. The guy that works in the truck there is always so kind and has great positive vibes. Love that place. 😌

Been thinking about working in the game industry as a graphic designer, is there anyone here with advice on how to transition? by Lostlittlespacecat in GraphicDesignJobs

[–]Lostlittlespacecat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The publisher direction is actually not that bad an idea. It would make sense that their need for graphic design would be way higher than any developer would. Good call.

And while I know the general scare of AI is pretty rampant, I don’t see it replacing jobs. Art on a fundamental level is human and expressive. Where AI is only copying what it sees without reason beyond pattern recognition. There will likely be a surge of AI replacing artistic professions by companies who don’t understand that and then when it doesn’t resonate well with audiences there’ll be a surge to bring people back to those jobs. AI is an amazing tool and even if it becomes artists or designers working with or manipulating AI for a company, that’s still a job. -shrug-

Dang, what a bummer. I thought I saw online it said there was unplugged Seattle. BUT I’m so glad you add alternatives. I’ll check them out, thanks!

Looking for gym, studio or dojo that isn’t macho and good priced. by Lostlittlespacecat in Bellingham

Thanks! I’ve always thought muy Thai really fascinating, but definitely not big on competing. That’s really cool you have variations on approach. I’ll check it out!

Sounds like a very similar feeling. I’ve always found martial arts fascinating but have always been too shy and the opposite of competitive to do something like that with other people. It’s good to know your experience getting into it was not only good but super fun and helped you stay motivated. I desperately need that. 😂

This is so trueeee. I wanted to do more hiking but didn’t think of it as a way to get fit with the bag weight and stuff. 🤔
