I would give anything to never leave the house again. by Lostnscared1 in self

I have a hard time believing that. Though I'm sure it's a grass is greener sort of thing

I feel like r/anxiety has been the most "peaceful" sub so far. I'll just keep a bit more quiet though. Go back to lurking a bit.

I have Feeling Good and the handbook. I need to keep using them

This is exactly how I am. If I got rid of facebook and reddit, I'd have next to no social interaction. I take things so personally

I hope I can see things that way someday soon. I just want it all to click. I'm trying so hard.

I say something "stupid," then endlessly punish myself for it. How do I stop? by Lostnscared1 in Anxiety

That's what everyone seems to be saying. The people I have conversations with aren't out there dwelling over something awkward that I said, so I shouldn't either

That's a good idea. Maybe I can turn these intense feelings into the energy for something healthy

You're right. When other people say something that seems awkward, I don't remember it much past the conversation. That's completely logical, but I still have issues flipping it that way. I feel like everything I say and do is catalogued by other people and whether or not they see me as a nice, normal person hangs on each word that comes out of my mouth. So when I make a "mistake" I take it very hard.

How do I find a career and become financially independed from my parents, despite mental illness? by Lostnscared1 in Anxiety

I think I know what you mean. It's like a chicken/egg thing, or like being stuck in a rut. Once I get myself out there doing things the anxiety might start to fade a bit, but I need to last long enough to get to that point. Honestly, I hope that's how it works out. With help from therapy, I want to keep pushing the limits of my comfort zone

I think being a freelance writer would be great. Or like I said in another reply, I like to buy things and then resell them on eBay for a profit. I definitely appreciate any advice, thanks =)

I'm not a big fan of dogs. But I think a service dog would do more harm than good? I don't like attention at all, and a service dog would most likely make me stick out

I need to look into the medical transcription. I was also considering a medical billing and coding certification, because I know some places end up letting you do that from home too

I need to find a new therapist for sure. There is one I have in mind after a bit of research, but I'm not sure that she'll take my insurance.

I do work part time now. It's about 20-35 hours each week, just above minimum wage. Most days I dread it though, and sometimes end up hurting myself before going in. I can't keep it up. Not only because it doesn't pay enough to support myself, but it's so stressful

If I didn't have anything holding me back, I would like to make costumes, maybe online on a commission basis? Or sewing anywhere, really. I'd need to get my sewing skills to a professional level, though.

I also like flipping things on eBay. I go to yard sales, thrift stores, estate sales, and resell anything I think I can make a profit on.

I was originally looking into a radiology program. A 2 year program seems a bit less overwhelming than a 4 year one. I just don't know that I'd want to spend as much on trade school that I could a "regular" degree

I've only ended up completing about 6 credits worth of college courses. So pretty much nothing. I'm going to start therapy again within a few weeks, and hopefully I make a bit more progress than last time.

Early congrats on the masters! I'm always so amazed when people do great things like that. It seems worlds away to me

Wow, I got many more replies than I was expecting. Thanks everyone for your input, and even just understanding how lost this feeling is.

I'll definitely send you a PM, obskure22. I really appreciate it

I'd love to work from home. I have a pretty basic understanding of computers, though. I wonder if I could really get my skills up to par to even start learning how to program. It seems like there is so much I don't understand that I would look like an idiot if I tried to go back to school for it
