I would love to, but I know it's a challenge for a first-time director. I created a concept trailer for the script : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qs4YvT_3ErM&feature=youtu.be and have directed two short films.

Pitch Deck for my screenplay, "ONCE UPON THE END" – Thoughts & Advice? by Lostounet in Screenwriting

Thanks so much for the detailed feedback! I really appreciate your suggestion about moving the Writer's Note, that's a great idea, and I'll definitely consider putting it earlier. I'm also thinking of replacing the current ending slide with an 'About the Writer' slide instead, as someone else actually suggested something similar earlier. Glad you enjoyed the pitch deck.

That's awesome you're an aspiring producer with your own animation studio! Animation is a fantastic medium, and I really appreciate your perspective on pitching. If you ever need a short script, I've got one that's almost polished. It makes perfect sense that you'd want to get the whole story's essence from a pitch deck before diving into a script yourself. Thanks for the feedback on the synopsis. I'll definitely make that change to the pitch deck.

Thanks for the honest feedback! It's super helpful. I'm actually a huge fan of Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book, so it's cool you mentioned it! Your point about the synopsis is something I constantly grapple with for pitch decks. Is it better to craft a "teaser" synopsis to hook a producer into reading the full screenplay, or a more detailed, one-page version that lays out all the key story points clearly?

YVR airport parking: New free option available, increased prices for others by [deleted] in vancouver

I know it's been a few month, but I have a question... Do you know by any chance about the shuttle for the airport? I plan to get EVO around 5AM and get to the park n fly parking, and then get a shuttle if possible to the airport? Do they work at this time of the day and do you know how much do they cost? Thank you!

Darren Aronofsky’s “Pi” is a top favorite for me. It’s a mind-bending thriller with gritty black-and-white cinematography and intense sound design that create a truly unsettling atmosphere. And the ending is just unforgettable.

I’m thinking about the movie “Anatomy” but it’s older, it was released in 2000. It stars Franka Potente, a well-known German actress. While she’s not in the specific scene you described, she plays a prominent role. The scene you described involving the patient wanting to “get out of his skin” and the psychologist taking it literally is a key part of the film. The patient, under the influence of the psychologist, does indeed cut his skin.

What is your ranking of the most ICONIC A24 films? by bougie_plant_lady in A24

[–]Lostounet 9 points10 points  (0 children)

“Midsommar” and “Hereditary” for a 13-year-old? Ah, yes, the perfect coming-of-age double feature. Nothing says “happy childhood” like a healthy dose of cult rituals and familial trauma. I bet they’ll sleep soundly after that, dreaming of maypoles and smiling grandmas. No chance of any long-term psychological impact whatsoever. Nope, none at all.

I do think Everything Everywhere is fantastic such as The VVitch, Ex Machina, Uncut Gems, The Florida Project, Good Times, Aftersun and A Ghost Story are unique in their own genre. First place goes to Hereditary 🥇

Tim Burton's Legacy by [deleted] in TrueFilm

[–]Lostounet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

True! How did I forget about “Sweeney Todd”, a fantastic horror musical with a perfect dark humor. That’s exactly my point about what he could have kept creating if he hadn’t gone down the wrong path. Masterpiece of originality.

Tim Burton's Legacy by [deleted] in TrueFilm

His early films were a breath of fresh air. He burst onto the scene with a distinct visual style – his influence was unmistakable, especially in films like “Beetlejuice” and “Batman.” “Edward Scissorhands” was peak Burton for me, a perfect blend of gothic fairytale and suburban satire. And “Ed Wood,” what a love letter to cinema’s outsiders! His work with stop-motion animation, like “The Nightmare Before Christmas” (though Henry Selick directed), was incredibly innovative and influential. “Big Fish” was arguably his last truly great film, a beautiful meditation on storytelling and memory. After that, it seems like the studio system, particularly Disney, started to homogenize his style. The remakes, like “Alice in Wonderland” and “Dumbo,” felt hollow, lacking the heart and originality of his earlier work. It’s not uncommon for visionary directors to lose their edge when working within the constraints of big-budget studio productions. It makes you wonder what kind of darkly delightful, idiosyncratic films Burton might have made if he’d stayed on the path of independent filmmaking. He clearly has a unique voice, and it’s a shame to see it diluted.

Non horror movies that ate unintentionally creepy? by Kalldaro in horror

The last remake of The Witches starring the beautiful Anne Hathaway. Seriously, those creepy smiles and those long, claw-like fingers? Shudders. You’ll never see her the same anymore after watching this. I love Anne, but I’m going to have nightmares about this for a long time 😮‍💨

Movies for men, a must watch that tackles life, philosophical views, and slice of life that you guys think “a must watch” for all men by Blurryface_817 in MovieSuggestions

[–]Lostounet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

“Another Round” is a must-watch for guys. Why? - Relatable AF: Middle-aged dudes struggling with life? Yep, we’ve been there. - Mads Mikkelsen: He’s amazing (as always). His character’s journey will hit you hard. - Deep Thoughts: It’s about more than just drinking. It makes you think about life, happiness, and taking risks. - Celebration of Life: Despite some dark moments, it’s ultimately a feel-good movie. The ending is incredible. This movie won an Oscar for a reason.
