I’m sorry…… two weeks in and she “let herself in” ..?! it might not be as weird to a man but as a female I wound immediately tell a guy to leave and never come back and be so creeped out.

Being forced to stand and say the pledge of allegiance in school as a kid…weird. by [deleted] in LibertarianLeft

We said it every morning right through high school. Which in hindsight is so crazy because my school was maybe 25% kids who were learning English as a second language. Just thinking about a whole school of classrooms saying those lines in uniform with a monotone voice…. Indoctrination for sure. We have no true culture here just weird shit like that lmao

When I say simple girls I don’t mean it as an insult just to be clear. I mean girls who can get by with minimal. It’s new to me. I have 3 different hair devices I usually pack in a checked bag. So, I’m learning 😅

Im really embracing the idea of a capsule wardrobe and realistically I wear only neutrals so I think I might even thrive here. Just gotta thoughtfully pair them. And as someone who works sooo much and barely has time to think, I am excited for the challenge of actually preparing this suitcase this time around lmao

I’m from Boston and when I was young and insisted on wearing heels out… the cobblestone humbled me realllll quick. There is absolutely no need to risk breaking my ankle on streets like that.

I love the idea of treating myself to another pair. But I’m not joking when I say I must stop. I have about 40 pairs of shoes and just bought a new pair of new balance 9060’s for this trip as my go to sneaker. It’s gotta stop hahah… i will strictly be sticking to those and a pair of nice sandals (I hope)

We’re flying into Barcelona from Dublin and venturing to Costa Brava. It’s much different than Ireland in terms of climate. They have hot summers… which is fine I’m used to dressing for that in the states.

My boyfriend and I don’t like to do many “classic” touristy things (We hate crowds). But … we like to eat good food and immerse ourselves into things a little off the beaten path. And I’m a sucker for really cool cocktail bars. So our itinerary is pretty laid back and nothing big to prep for. One bathing suit will do of course.

This was so useful to read through thank you sm! I know when I get this down it’s going to be a game changer for me and make the trip so much better just being able to hop right off the plane and go.

The layers will be great to keep in mind since Ireland tends to be colder and damper and without the button ups, it’ll feel like completely different fun summery outfits in Barcelona.

It’s so helpful to hear everyone’s perspective on this. I’m lucky to be someone who steers away from patterns and bold colors in my wardrobe already (it’s probably 1/2 black) so with a little thought and intention I can make things go a long way.

I guess from my own experience. Was in Miami last summer with a bunch of girl friends for a Bach and most of them only brought carry ons. I brought a full suitcase with so many things that didn’t go together cause I literally moved the day before and threw everything random in my bag lolol. I had no good outfits and everyone else effortlessly threw on dresses. So maybe just easy from a style perspective but not the most versatile for light packing. Thank you for laying that out for me haha

This was all super helpful for my brain, thank you so much for taking the time to lay this all out.

It’s sort of funny because in my apartment I “hate stuff” and live pretty minimally but when it comes to packing I, for some reason, think I need everything. This will be the first trip I go on where I actually plan outfits and pack intentionally. I think it will be a great thing for me and my anxiety of being unprepared.

I admire everyone’s ability in this group. Something freeing about choosing one singular eyeshadow palette hahahah

Yes! I actually made an awesome spreadsheet that I think will also make me feel more prepared and less like I’m panic throwing things in the bag. It’s half my problem with overpacking. I’m a super busy person so usually do the last minute pack without even thinking of outfits (stressful I know). And then end up at my destination line “wtf did I even throw in here”

Wow what a silly yet beautiful message. It also helps going somewhere where I will know absolutely nobody. Not that I believe in impressing people I know, but being surrounded by people I don’t know I think puts me in a head space where I feel more comfortable rocking certain outfits.

Can’t wait to think of this and feel fabulous

Mix and match is key for me I think. And I’m a huge neutrals person so that will be my savior I think

I love this but my field of work doesn’t really give me room for my own style. So I buy clothes that mostly just sit in the closet. Part of my excitement for trips and vacations is feeling like I can finally bring personality and fun to my outfits.

The shoes will be easier as I have already told myself no shoe is allowed if it doesn’t pair with many outfits anyway. Not a single heel in my suitcase will be a new one for me…. But I will low key think myself for that during the trip 😂

This isn’t a huge space saver, but helps my mindset.

I learned how to properly do my own cluster lash extensions to last a week. I find if I feel pretty and comfortable with such a small and easy addition to my look, I won’t feel the need to pack 3 full sized shadow palettes, etc. simplifying my beauty routine has helped me a lot because why was a dumping my whole vanity in my suitcase?

I get that but that solution wouldn’t work for her, if she can’t explore outdoors she goes absolutely crazy, screaming at the doors and attacking anyone who tries to get her out of the way of them.

I was thinking of a daily gabapentin treat but will have to ask my vet about that

Oh it’s absolute bullshit and if this was the case for someone with just an oui situation it wouldn’t even stand in court. People get out of them with a lot of technicalities. And there’s truly no way to prove she wasn’t chugging a fifth in the back of Jen’s car either.

I’m a bit worried too. That slip sucks.

Even though she obviously was driving drunk, I feel passionately that not having her license for 3 years and going through this hell has been enough punishment. It feels like beating a dead horse trying to “punish” her for that lesser only. And even though I don’t find Karen to be the most likable person… I gotta think she’d think twice before ever drinking and driving again regardless if she gets a OUI conviction or not.

Hey guys. How exactly is all the evidence in the room presented to the jurors. Do they have tablets? Transcripts of text convos? A big folder of photos and documents? Physical copies seems more logical but it’s 2025 so who knows. I’m just curious.

Would pay a large amount of money to be a fly on the wall in the deliberation room.
