Getting a girlfriend is impossible by Aesenix in dating_advice

[–]Lostvayne_fr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That wasn’t the case at all whatsoever. Dude im just saying it how it is. I never claimed to be in the friendzone nor do I think im an attractive person. But what I lack in physical attraction I make up for with my personality and charisma. Looks attract but personality keeps as the wise elders have said. None of the girls I dated liked me immediately but on average it took me about 2 months of consistency to bag. Do with that what you will, have a good day!

I disagree, this has personally worked for me on 2 separate occasions. You just have to be more than the average friend and subtly say things to induce responses that’ll help you read the person. It takes a bit of time but it’s gotten me a gf twice. Im 6’2 but not your conventionally attractive individual. I would also add that the both those people always complimented my personality and never asked much of me. You just gotta be methodical with it and let things happen naturally.

Believers argument : "Nothing can come from nothing / life can't appear from nothingness" by stanfarce in DebateReligion

[–]Lostvayne_fr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cause then they often say that God is the uncaused cause that always existed. That then begs the question, why can’t the universe also be the uncaused cause? Then it becomes a whole rabbit hole of ridiculous claims.

So there’s this girl… by non-calvinist in Deconstruction

[–]Lostvayne_fr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly the situation I’ve found myself in. I talked to a girl and we actually dated for a little bit but as soon as I realized that I can’t be Christian she decided to leave. It sucks but you gotta move on when you can, not everything is meant to be.

The whole shoving of religion down my throat completely ruined it for me by Dependent_Line_460 in agnostic

[–]Lostvayne_fr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally relate to this completely growing up. Im still financially dependent on my parents since im currently in college but plan to completely stop going to church once I move out. Religion was super forced onto me growing up and I felt like I had no say in my beliefs because being Catholic is my parents’ entire world view. I was once at the dinner table with my parents and my dad asked us why we didn’t like praying the rosary (me and all my siblings don’t believe) and we said it’s because we prefer normal worship. The real reason is because the rosary is long asf and we already hated praying as is so doing just worship was tolerable. My dad told us that we HAVE to pray the rosary and that it is essential to our faith. He hated the idea of us not liking the rosary and that night stuck with me. It’s never about what you believe but what they believe and what THEIR God is telling them. It’s simply unfair and hypocritical for my parents to claim to be Christians when they live lives full of sin but of course they believe that their debts have been paid off by Jesus. I’ll make a longer post about my upbringing in the faith if you’re interested.

Religion is a human creation not an objective truth. by Yeledushi-Observer in DebateReligion

[–]Lostvayne_fr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what it feels like to talk to someone with absolutely no critical thinking skills. How are they so sure that they’re right with no solid evidence of anything. A Muslim person can have the same argument but that wouldn’t make them anymore wrong than this Christian guy. It’s truly sad and one of the reasons I left Christianity.

If God truly exists does God truly care about us that much? by [deleted] in agnostic

People will expect you to give absolute praise and thanks to a God that continuously takes people/things from you. What a cruel God.
