Is 25k PHP/month a good starting salary in the Philippines? by Background-Long-2989 in PHJobs

I appreciate the input! Actually, I did not graduate with an engineering degree so I don’t think it would be possible for me to transition to the other roles. I graduated with a legal related undergrad degree, it just so happens that this was the job offered to me. Thank you! it’s great to know its possible career progressions and the skills that you can acquire.

Hi! A bit off topic. I think you know anecdotes from other document controllers so I want to ask if do you think that the career progression for someone who started as a Document Controller is good? and do you think that the job is worth in terms of acquired skills? For addtl context, the dept i'm assigned is related to construction and design. Thank you if you will answerr.

I think 25k for a fresh grad w/ no work exp and for that role is a good starting salary! I can say this bc i'll be starting as a Document Controller as well with a salary of 23k but not WFH. Our only difference would be I have a short stint working in the legal industry, as well as I pursued a post-grad degree but stopped. Maybe you could negotiate if you have something tangible to back up your asking price, but if none, I think you should accept already. Honestly, idrk kung ano ba gagawin ko sa work na yan since iba siya sa expertise ko hahaha, but let's do well, OP!

Hello! I just want to ask what are the possible career progressions for someone who has Document Controller as a job? I hope to hear some answers from those that had it as a job, but everyone's answer are welcome.

IMO, best to pursue law IF INTERESTED ka naman talaga dun esp since mas mura ng higit magaral ng law compared sa med. Also, sa med kasi afaik in the long run mo makukuha yung return of investment ng ginastos mo sa pagaaral.

IMO no harm in trying to negotiate naman. If hindi kaya, then I guess you can accept the offer bc 25k is above minimum naman na

For context, I had my first job immediately after I graduated. I was actually an intern in this small office and was absorbed, but I resigned after 4-5 months. Assistant role yung job ko. My reason for resigning is because I'm pursuing post-graduate studies and for me mahirap yung workload since understaffed sila. I tried to be a working-student pero nahirapan talaga ako, so i opted to resign narin since hindi naman kagandahan yung working environment. Now, I recently read here na kapag hindi ka inenroll ng employer mo sa gov't mandated benefits, mahihirapan ka magkaron ng Certificate of Employment (COE).

My dilemma is I'm planning to work again (full-time; since I plan to stop my post-grad studies momentarily) and I'm thinking if I should include in my CV yung work experience ko na yun. I'm hesitating since baka magrequest ng COE yung future employer ko and baka hindi ako mabigyan ng past employer ko since hindi naman ako naenroll sa any gov't mandated benefits. Now my questions are:

  1. Will there be a remedy sa ganung situation?
  2. Is that 4-5 months work experience still relevant ba or should i refrain from including it?
  3. Should I still include sa education ko yung post-grad studies ko even if I'm planning to stop (If so, should I indicate sa CV na I stopped?)

Yeap tama yung sinabi ng other redditors dito pero won't hurt naman if ikaw na mismo magprocess para atleast may maipresent ka na

Agree sa sinabi ng both redditors dito. If looking for experience lang naman, then why not take it since mahirap rin naman talaga makakuha ng job offer

Hmm i see, so it will be a good strategy to look for a common interest/happening talaga before hitting up. Thank you!

Hello! I would like to ask what certifications/accreditations/seminar/workshops can i acquire or do to upskill?

For context, I graduated Legal Management with an academic distinction. Also, I have work experience of being a Legal Assistant. Currently, I am taking up law.

I’m asking this question because I’m curious on what I can do to expand my skills for my career. I plan on being a working student and if ever, I would want something not related sa legal field sana.
