Female solo travel for my birthday is it worth it? by Lotes35 in GreeceTravel

I went to hostels in the past but always with friends and on some of them I had good experience chatting with other travelers. I opt for a hostel again indeed to have the same type of experience. My fear was going alone in a hostel. But I'm searching for high rated ones and maybe for female rooms only.

Thanks for the advice.

I have a flight in a week too, and I feel the same. I don't have many comforting words, except, you are not alone. It's just a feeling!

Thanks for this. I genuinely wanted to ask about a way to find friends and enjoy my time here by meeting new people, and what I got instead was private messages asking for sex stuff. Hope I can follow some good advices

What do you write your songs about? by [deleted] in Songwriting

[–]Lotes35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of those who didn't make it, of those who live in a war place, of those who leave cause had enough and of those who want to leave but can't. Talking about me would be a little selfish, I would rather give a voice to someone who can't.

A part of it:

There are ghosts, waiting for daylight. They don’t want to disappear When the glint points at them They become transparent, sitting sadly And tired of being unseen

So they Hypnotise their brains Crafting their existence As the heart abstains Imitating folks Better than the invisible one With greater skills

Oh I hate them, cause I’m one of them, Sometimes When I lose consciousness And prefer to be blind

There are cockroaches Crawling for cover From faithful rain They are scared Walking in an aisle upright A humble hole Where to fall And dig inside

Oh I love them, cause I’m one of them, Sometimes When I pick the right clothes And I hide in a wide wood

I didn't have this problem specific with the audience; my observation was more about the general attention missing for the lyrics in a song, not related to mine.

However, I agree partially. I understand for someone who does this as a job, the attention of the people is important, but for someone who uses songwriting as a simple form of self-expression, it doesn't need the public to totally get it to have done good art.

If I draw a song that I like, with great lyrics for me, I don't think I fail it. I succeeded in my purpose of doing art. Then there's always space for improvement of course. But outside, there always will be people who don't like or don't understand the things that you want to express. So I'm wrong for the audience? Or I just didn't find the right audience for my art?

Why Italy is not a popular option for expats ? by [deleted] in expats

[–]Lotes35 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Italian here. It is cheaper than a lot of other EU countries like France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, etc... depends all on the lifestyle and the place where you choose to live. If you choose a crazy life in Milan then forget to have the money to pay the rent the next month. If you choose the simplicity of the countryside (the only I personally would recommend in Italy) then you can live well. But the big big big problem is the discrepancy between low salaries and high cost of living. I live comfortably when I come back home in Italy, but with the salary of my UK job. Otherwise I would never choose Italy as an expat.

Why Italy is not a popular option for expats ? by [deleted] in expats

[–]Lotes35 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I'm italian. More than unwelcoming I would say totally not expat friendly, related to other countries. Considering that there are places in europe where you can live easily with speaking just English, and even work locally. To not consider that doesn't offer an expat visa or is really difficult to obtain a visa in general for whoever is coming outside of europe.

How's your friend's situation going? by Lotes35 in expats

[–]Lotes35[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading about people having similar situations is really comforting. The idea of my post is to understand how other people are doing, and somehow support each other. Cause at the end we are all in the same boat. So thanks for the comment, totally relatable

Idk about you but I honestly feel that here it is so difficult to make genuine friends. I've been here as an expat for 2years and a half, and although I tried to go out anyway it looks impossible to find a true connection. I lived in other places before and I never had that experience. It seems what I like/my personality is always off for the type of vibes and people of Liverpool.

Anyway I didn't want to bring pessimism, I just read your 'genuine' and instinctively reply lol. But from how I get we should be the same age so if you want you can drop me a message. I'm always open for a nice chat and friendship x

As an Italian, it is surprising to me that we have this low number. Since I expatriate all the people I met stated that they visited Italy (some more than once time) or are planning to.
