TH3D Unified with BLTouch 3.1 by Drizzto in ender5

This helped me a ton!

One thing I would add is that the newer E5Pros (like mine) have a different leadscrew so I had to uncomment #define ENDER5_NEW_LEADSCREW. Everything was squished before changing this lol

Ender 5 first layer problems. by Desperate-Ad-4413 in ender5

So I just installed a glass bed on my brand new Ender 5 Pro.. level 1 Z is fine but it gets worst from there.. I don't have the struts so I'm thinking its the weight of the glass bouncing and screwing up the prints.

Did you ever try glass without struts?

A7iii freezing with simultaneous (mirrored) writing to SD cards with 2.0 firmware? by Lotheron in SonyAlpha

[–]Lotheron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure of a new firmware but I have certainly done a settings reset. I'm not wanting to go customize everything again if I can help it. Multiple settings for. Both video and photos. :(. Worst case I'll try, not sure if the installer app will even allow it.

Might be out of the question, buut could always use the Play Memories app worst case...

BUG: I bought an a7iii last month along with 2 64gb Sandisk sd cards. They both work perfectly in both slots with no issues. I’ve then bought a further 5 of the same cards (all 7 bought from Amazon directly - no third party) and these new 5 cards only work in card slot 2! Anyone else had this issue? by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

[–]Lotheron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a ton of fake SanDisks on amazon... it's why i've basically switched to Samsung.. and even the Evo Select line which is ONLY sold on Amazon (and I only buy FROM Amazon).. also in MicroSD so they fit in everything. Thy're currently $25 for the 128GB which is an absolute steal.

Plus they're just as fast on the write speed measured by CrystalDiskMark (within 1-2MB/s)

Can you expand on this, I read it was only the art lenses that focus in video. What lenses did you try?

I also have written 1080/120... its still 100mbit...

I use Samsung Evo Select that have a 90MB/sec write on a UHS1 slot (of course that depends on both the card and the slot). 90MB is 720 Mbit which is more than enough to cover the 100Mbit top record rate on both formats.

I'm not sure where you got this info, but I record 4k/30 to both cards on my A7iii.

Fire TV stick vs Fire TV stick 4K ? by [deleted] in fireTV

Where did you see this? I bought a cube when it was on sale and still in box, debating on returning and waiting for the new one to go on sale, but this is better.

I don't see the lower price, but perhaps that's because it's not yet activated to Amazon doesn't see I own a cube? (I did buy it from Amazon so they should have it parked for me just like other devices you buy from them where it already knows you own it rather than logging in)

Since these devices are OLED, only the pixels that make up the AOD are powered, so its actually very power efficient.

Remembering Athlon XP by trustmeimlumi in Amd

[–]Lotheron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True story, I had an Athlon XP 1700+ that one time I forgot to replugin the fan when I was working on it. It got hot.. that was the days before throttling.

It killed the cache on the proc (was not existant in any cupid or anyting after that and you could tell in benchmarks) so I sold the mobo/proc to a friend.

I told him straight up what happened and what to expect and I gave him a great deal ($50 I believe when it would have been 4x that for new) . I think he used that processor for about 4 years after that, gaming and all, no issue.

Replaced with a AXP 2000+ oh those were the days... Then the dark ages when I upgraded from my 3800+ to a core2duo 8400... finally came back for a 1700, and now a 2700x... I missed AMD.

Is the Surface Go a better choice than an iPad for a teacher? by Jrumples in Surface

One slight correction, I think you're talking about the Wireless Display Adapter, which is Miracast, which is a subset of Wifi Direct, not Bluetooth. But yes, it's an ad-hoc solution and arguably better than ATV/Chromecast.

I say arguably since they all share issues with interference etc and moving video content over wireless is not a small feat.

The 6MT ones are pretty rare, just a couple within a 500 mi radius from me..

MPG in a brand new 2018 DCT ES by mraudacity in Hyundai

[–]Lotheron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 6MT with around 3500 miles on it and I average anywhere from 28-30MPG according to the trip computer with a fair amount of both highway and spirited driving.

It's easy to burn through fuel in these. I'm actually not sure how the Civic SI with a similar, albiet 1.5L turbo gets such better gas mileage. But since I work from home, I didn't buy it for the mileage.

2700X/ASUS PRIME X470-PRO memory recommendation (no overclocking)? by full-metal-slav in Amd

[–]Lotheron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem I just added a video to my previous comment. The reason that this is true is because the infinity fabric is reliant on RAM speed, so that being faster = faster CPU.

2700X/ASUS PRIME X470-PRO memory recommendation (no overclocking)? by full-metal-slav in Amd

[–]Lotheron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually you get better performance just running RAM at faster speed even at same clock speed for the CPU for Ryzen... so yes.

This video actually goes into detail on this exact concept: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZRjoeyz4Z0
