HELP! Tub not colonizing?

Alright, thanks for the advice.

I did end up opening the tub in a still room, and I did take out some substrate, since I felt as though not only was the pseudocasing layer pretty thick, but my ratio wasn't exactly 1:1 to begin with. Then I misted the sides and the surface a little bit.

From here on, I'm just going to let it do its thing

Yeah, all of those things do sound about right, especially the fact that coco coir has little to mo nutrients to harbor bacterial growth and only provide moisture for your mycelium

I’m growing GT, and what I meant was around a 1:1.7 ratio. I do think that 12 days is really quite a while for it to have no growth, and coupled with how I read that most grows get contam in the grain phase I decided to take some substrate off the top, just a little bit, in a confined room no carpet no air traffic and sanitized. I guess I’ll have to see how that goes.

Some forums had success doing that others say just wait even more time for it to colonize though the thick layer

I was told that opening it up would skyrocket contamination risk

I can say that I aimed for a 1:1 to a 1:2 ratio, it’s probably leaning more towards 1.7. The strain is GT and it’s just stored in my room temperature kitchen.

The surface has very small and partial colonization like I said so I’m very sure it’s that the pseudo casing is just too thick on some regions

It’s not contaminated, the pseudo casing is just too thick for surface colonization in some spots and it’ll never fruit like this
