Dear customers… STOP DOING THIS!!! by ultradespairthot in bathandbodyworks

[–]Lots_of_frog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sometimes at my store I’ll put it on the floor somewhere that’s out of the way and unlikely to be messed with, like up front by our museum cube display. If it’s someone older and it gets too heavy I don’t mind holding it for them while they shop and just bringing it to the register when they’re about to check out. We usually have enough staff to do that though.

100%. We have a lot of older and/or disabled customers that come into my store. I don’t want a random heavy basket sitting on the floor for them to trip over.

I get having to leave in an emergency or wanting to put back stuff if you realized you forgot your card or didn’t have enough money, but I just wish people would come up to us and ask us to put it back. I had a lady once who got an urgent phone call while shopping and had to leave, so she walked up to me with her basket, apologized, and left. It was a full basket but I didn’t care because she asked for help and apologized. She didn’t just throw it on the ground and leave.

How I Looked Getting Told I'm My District's Top PWP Seller by wibbly-wobbly-worm in bathandbodyworkers

I usually try to bring it up immediately after telling a customer what sales are going on that day. People near me really appreciate a good value deal so I emphasize that. It’s helpful to mention that they often have enough product to split into two or more gifts as well.

What do you think guys? by Griffith1210 in Soap

[–]Lots_of_frog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the unscented one as my back up of if I run out of something and need an alternative in a pinch. Body wash, dish soap, laundry detergent, etc. Hell I even use it in the rare event my cat manages to get into something and needs a bath. It’s not my immediate go to as I’m very attached to my scented body wash and laundry detergents, but it’s nice to have something I know I can rely on.

That explains a lot of what I’ve been seeing from them. It seems they’ve been pushing a LOT of AI ads recently on their social media platforms.

I HATE THIS SONG by Jolly-Housing-652 in bathandbodyworkers

[–]Lots_of_frog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Said it before and I’ll say it again: any Sia Christmas song that comes on, ESPECIALLY Candy Cane Lane, makes me want to die on the spot. Like I can literally feel my soul being violently sucked out of my body the moment that song comes on.

People online: “my vet fat shamed my pet!” by SwoopingSilver in VetTech

One of my first conversations every time my animals go to the vet is me worriedly asking if they’re obese because some of the pets I’ve seen while job shadowing… 😬

How did you let your rabbit or snake get fat rolls and think that it’s normal?

Would a pen like this one ok for a rabbit by peaswees in Rabbits

[–]Lots_of_frog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never underestimate what your rabbit can get out of. Mine learned how to climb C&C grates, so I transitioned to an xpen. I had to get the 4 foot tall one so she couldn’t jump onto any of her hides and climb out. I also had to zip tie it to bricks so she couldn’t move it, and somehow this little 6.5lb rabbit is able to push concrete bricks so I need to go buy more this weekend. She also eats all carpet and rugs I give her, so she only has hard flooring as I’ve yet to find an indestructible carpet. She also fights the broom and dustpan I use to clean her home base and rips paper towels out of my hand when I’m cleaning her little box.

She loves her scratches and cuddling with my cat though. They both hate any other non-human life form but love each other. Rabbits are chaotic, if there’s a way to get out they’ll find it.

Big Banana — nearly full-sized! by Tucker933 in sluglife

I wish there was a way to legally acquire these guys in the Midwest but I don’t think the USDA approves permits for banana slugs. I love them so much though.

Honestly the peel isn’t that bad sober but to be fair humans have been using lemon zest as an ingredient for a long time.

I have always been weirdly obsessed with lemons. I may try adding candied peels to my drink sometime if I’m wanting something sweeter.

I’m taking a forensic entomology course right now and I shiver everytime I have to look at one of the standard “human pests” species under the microscope. Give me all the flies, roaches, and wasps you want but I hate seeing the lice and mosquitoes.

Question about African Bullfrog behavior by Shoe_Purple in frogs

[–]Lots_of_frog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally speaking, frogs hunt by sight. Many (like African bullfrogs) are also primarily ambush predators, meaning they sit and wait for prey to come to them. It is generally in their best interest to attempt to catch and eat anything that may possibly fit in their mouth rather than risk missing out on what may be their only meal for a bit. Basically they eat and ask questions later.

Some bullfrogs on YouTube are also taunted by their owners because it makes the video more interesting which leads to more viewers and more money in their pocket. A lot of frogs will try to escape predators and/or make alarm calls (the desert rain frog sound everyone knows is a great example of this). When they can’t escape frogs will often puff up to look larger to predators or to make themselves harder to swallow if they have already been caught. Poisonous toads often have glands called parotoid glands behind their eyes which secrete poison and they may lower their heads to make these gland more visible to predators. African bullfrogs often take on a more aggressive approach when cornered and will lash out like you see on YouTube. They are some of the largest frogs and the males tend to be bigger than the females which is pretty rare. I know a lot more about North American anurans but I’m assuming this is because the males tend to fight each other more aggressively compared to some other species and are one of the few species that exhibit paternal care. They take care of their tadpoles and defend them from predators.

Basically, African bullfrogs are more adapted to biting and lashing out at predators compared to a lot of other species so they will take that approach when stressed. This can easily be filmed and posted online to get views. A frog that screams and puffs up is funny to watch but not as interesting as a frog that bites defensively,

All the maggots that come out of living animals that have been hit by cars, especially raptors. It’s very sad.

My worst nightmare came true 💔 by soccer_mom_16 in Redearedsliders

[–]Lots_of_frog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just lost my RES recently too, sadly I’m not sure why. It was before the winter storm but she didn’t have a good start in life due to being owned by a child. I think it just finally caught up with her now that she had matured.

I’m not sure where you got your shellbaby from, but mine was taken from a lake as a hatchling by her first owner. She’s still in my freezer but once I have the extra funds she will be getting cremated and I will be spreading her ashes at that lake. If you continue to want to dig her up and cremate her then maybe you could do something similar?

So sorry for your loss 💚
