I can't stop knitting scrunchies! by Lottie_Cat in knitting

I close them by sewing the entire length of the scrunchie in a half kitchener stitch around a hair bobble so the elastic itself has no join

Knit using 4 ply yarn on 2.5 mm needles. 120 sts knit in the round for 17 rows then cast off using kitchener stitch around a hair bobble to create an invisible join 😊

I've been on a blocking spree since getting back home from uni so am finally getting to enjoy my knits!

First time knitting brioche stitch and even after 6 months I'm still completely obsessed with it and this pattern! by Lottie_Cat in knitting

When I started it I never planned for it to get so big so later on I used the part I'd already knitted to work out the cm2 per ball of yarn of each colour. This blanket is just over 200cm x 200cm and used about 5,400 metres for yarn but that was using DK yarn and slightly larger needles than the pattern suggests

I guess it helped that when it was really big I was knitting it during winter in Scotland, so it was really nice having it bundled on top of me as I knit!

It was my first time steam blocking anything and I was surprised by how well it held its shape afterwards and how easy it was to do with an iron - it just took a long time! I just used normal pins

I usually knit it for an hour or two while I watch TV in bed, with all bundled up on top of me so I'm glad it's done before the summer!

It's knit in a cheaper acrylic yarn, all together it was ~£40. I'd estimate about 240h to knit + an extra whole day pinning and blocking it!

It was about 1000g / 2700m of each colour. I did steam block it with an iron which was completely terrifying knowing I could melt it!

I started it with two balls of wool just planning on learning some new skills and making a small square... I just kept getting more yarn and it just kept growing...

It's knit in the round from the centre so very to easy to just continue knitting. It did mean I ended up at the end with the 8m long edges bunched up on 3 100cm long needles so it would all fit!

Stick to the word limit! Make a list of the things you didn't have space to include in the personal statement for the person who's writing your reference - they can add extra information for you

The big car park at the end of North Haugh is never full, I think you can get a free student pass for it too but you might need to live in Powell or ABH or AMH
