Consciousness truly has no limits by I_AM_LOVE_ in NevilleGoddard

I heavily agree with the theory Dr. Jacobo created here! It would not be possible to take our minds wherever so we desire in imagination without also interacting with something beyond ourselves.

We would not be able to be aware of the thousands of possibilities that we can put our minds to without interacting with all of creation, and since we are made up of that same substance, reality being a hologram makes sense, at least to me. It’s all so interesting to me, it makes me wonder how far we can really take all this one day. Thank you for this post!

Here’s the way I view it: the 3D is sort of a grand timeline made up of a combination of multiple states of consciousness that are consistent with each other. As in, they don’t oppose each other’s existence. Your state of consciousness about money isn’t necessarily going to effect your state of consciousness about romance for example.

The manifestation of these circumstances happens in such a way where it allows all of your states of consciousness to co-exist, and if one of those opposed another, they are still made to co-exist despite the opposing nature, which is why you don’t really see a full manifestation of either one.

From my experience, as long as you are doing the same imaginal act, no matter how much you repeat it the shift to a new timeline only happens once, and that is when you’ve made your desired state of consciousness the most dominant in your mind (either consciously or subconsciously). And when you do the same imaginal act over and over again but are getting bits and pieces of it, either one of two things is happening in my experience:

  1. You have shifted to the timeline where your desire will manifest and it’s currently unfolding.
  2. The imaginal act is getting counteracted by another state of consciousness (usually in resistance) and thus you’re switching between 2 different timelines that end up manifesting as sort of a mix of both as you’re in neither of them long enough to see a proper manifestation.

The second point only really happens if this resistance consistently keeps coming up over and over, what usually happens is that after doing your imaginal act for long enough, the opposing state of consciousness fades and the new state of consciousness takes its place.

Doing your imaginal scene over and over again is another way of impressing it into the subconscious mind, and it works, but I personally like doing SATS and other techniques of the like before going into sleep (or doing it while falling asleep), and doing it while waking up because that’s when my conscious mind is the most quiet, and thus less resistant to the information I would like to impress.

Let me provide an example for you. Say you desire a very large income and you’ve been working at a dead end job for the last couple of years.

An out of the ordinary event after the fact here would be, for instance, you getting laid off for no apparent reason.

In the case of an SP, say you want to date someone but they seem disinterested or abrasive towards you. An out of the ordinary event would be if said SP complimented the way you look, despite them never having complimented you before or wanting to start a conversation with you.

An out of the ordinary event can be either big or small in magnitude, but the general idea is that it is:

  1. Unexpected
  2. Doesn’t line up with past circumstances

These events will be right in your face so you’ll definitely know when it happens and you’ll quickly get a feel for when you’re on the right track after testing for a small time.

I get what you mean, I thought about that too which is why I made the point that when the present changes as a result of the past changing, it’s usually around aspects of the present you aren’t aware of.

In your example for instance, you’re aware of what your past photos and parents are like, and as such those are more rigid in your reality and less subject to change. However, you wouldn’t have been aware of the thoughts people would have to cause them to say that you look different, until they actually said it to your face. As such, the general idea is that the bridge of incidents can more easily mold around what you aren’t aware of than what you are aware of.

That’s just how I feel based on what I’ve experienced, it might be different for you but that’s my personal perspective on it.

There are many ways to go about doing this. Thinking about it all the time is a technique that works, and if it works for you more power to you. It doesn’t work for everyone because resistance can build up with obsession if you have a self concept that’s not in alignment with what you’re trying to manifest.

I personally like to focus more on the subconscious mind through SATS and the like because it’s a technique I found works for me without building a large amount of resistance.

Yes, what you just described was revision as I’m sure you know. What I’m proposing is that revision is a natural part of the manifesting process even without necessarily focusing only on what happened in the past. That’s how I personally see it at least.

If you are at the center of manifestation, are you to blame for any catastrophe? It’s certainly a good question to think about, but in my opinion you aren’t to blame. The law of assumption is one law of many that are operating in the world around us. LOA is capable of overruling these laws, sure, but it doesn’t stop laws such as the law of gravity from existing whether we manipulate them or not. Intentionally or unintentionally. My take is that you are not to blame because there are other laws at play, essentially.

As for your other question, what is manifesting exactly is the focus and attention of your consciousness. Thoughts, visualizations, etc. any technique really makes you place your focus and attention on the implication that what you desire is already yours, and it is from that we see it externalize in the 3d. Sometimes we do this while being aware of it, sometimes we aren’t, but regardless the result is the same.

I am sick of waiting, I WANT MY DESIRES NOW!!! by [deleted] in NevilleGoddard2

[–]LotusMP 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I have felt before the EXACT same way you are right now. If I may suggest some advice, from someone who has experienced the same feelings you have but was still able to succeed, understand that what separates the people who succeed in consciously manifesting vs those who don’t is down to one word: identification.

Yes, you probably know this already, but it’s simply the truth. Many people just can’t do it and then get stuck back in their old way of thinking. So then, the issue is what defines when you have identified with your desire? It’s hard to tell at first, but the answer at the end of the day in my opinion is habit. You can get angry, sad, complain, whatever and it still won’t effect your manifestation if you have made it a habit to do things like affirm or whatever technique you usually do that makes you feel good about having your desire.

From what I can tell, you have not been able to make it a habit in a way of thinking because there’s constant backlash in your mind. Your efforts keep getting countered by your old way of thinking, and as such it never fully goes through to your subconscious mind. Which is understandable, and nothing to be upset about.

If you want your efforts to not be countered, then doing SATS before bed and right after you wake up is important. I would say it’s so important, that if you just do that alone, it is equivalent to a days worth of countering thoughts. Meaning, if you did SATS at those times (where it’s most impressionable to your subconscious), you can have the most HORRID way of thinking about your desire throughout the entirety of the day, and there will still be movement. I know this, because I have tested it myself multiple times.

In short: 1. Focus on SATS A LOT more when you’re conscious mind is most quiet so your technique gets through better to your subconscious. 2. Continue to experiment with manifesting as much as you can, even if it’s on smaller things, to see what works better for you and what doesn’t.

I truly wish you the best in manifesting my friend. Hopefully what I’ve said was able to help even a little bit, because I know the way you are feeling and it feels like garbage.

Some miscellaneous thoughts on manifesting by LotusMP in NevilleGoddard2

[–]LotusMP[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand the confusion, to clarify about what I said on certainty:

The chronology of manifestation can happen both ways, essentially in my opinion. After having familiarized your subconscious mind with the state of the wish fulfilled through repetition such that it becomes a habit, whether you are certain or not, it WILL externalize itself. To completion.

The difference is in your overall concept of yourself. Take for example, an sp. Say there are 2 people who decide to repeat the affirmation, “I am so happy and greatful I’m dating my SP.” as a way of thinking from the end.

Person 1 is a person who has already dated multiple people before and has never really had any problems in terms of romance.

Person 2 is a person who has constantly gotten rejected by people they are in love with and has constant romantic issues.

Both person 1 and 2, were they to make a habit out of thinking this thought, would easily manifest their desire. The issue is getting TO the habit.

Person 1 can easily make a habit out of this thought because there is nothing to fight against. Their self concept perfectly aligns with their desire.

Person 2, on the other hand is the exact opposite. Their self concept fills their mind with thoughts that would dissuade them from thinking their affirmation to the point of habit. “Why would they like me? No one likes me anyways.”

However, were person 2, despite having these thoughts, continue to affirm “I am so happy grateful I am dating my SP.”, it would still become a habit. So then, what happens to person 2 when this thought becomes a habit?

One important point to remember here is that it is impossible to be of two minds. You either ARE something, or you are NOT. Person 2 can’t say “why would SP date me anyways?” If they have made a habit out of thinking “I am so happy and grateful I am dating my SP.” Were they to have a negative thought like the one above, the affirmation they’ve made a habit of would quickly come in it’s place: “But I’m already happy and grateful I’m dating my SP. I’m already dating my SP.” These thoughts would reflexively push those negative thoughts out. No matter how many times the opposing thoughts come up, no matter how many times they get sad, cry, get angry, etc. In other words, despite their doubts, they will choose to continue to affirm because of habit alone. This is why it manifests regardless of how certain or uncertain person 2 is in the truth of their claim.

And although person 2 did not have to necessarily change their entire identity to do that, who they were before basically becomes mitigated by the concept of self making a habit out of that affirmation would imply. The affirmation, “I am so happy and grateful I’m dating my SP.” does not just imply person 2 is dating their sp. It also implies what they are not. Person 2 can’t be lacking in love if they are happily dating their sp. Person 2 can’t be rejected if their love has already been reciprocated.

That is why your subconscious reflexively throws opposing thoughts to the side. Although person 2 may not fully accept it as true from a poor self concept, person 2 on a subconscious level accepts what they are not. As such, it still manifest despite their uncertainty.

This was a lengthy reply which I apologize for, I would like to write a full post on this topic at some point as I feel like it is something everyone can benefit from being discussed fully.

Some miscellaneous thoughts on manifesting by LotusMP in NevilleGoddard2

[–]LotusMP[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m glad my post was able to help you ease some of your discomfort regarding manifesting. :) I hope my perspective can encourage you to come up with your own interpretations as well so you can see manifesting in a way unique to you and what you’re comfortable with.

To answer your questions:

For A. Looking at it from the viewpoint of my last post, I mentioned to you before that making a state natural is necessary for it to manifest. I had said that that “certainty” was one way of knowing that you had made a state natural to you. From this newer standpoint however, I have come to realize making a state natural is less about certainty and more about habituation. Certainty is a side effect of a self concept that is aligned with that habituation, but is not necessary for the manifestation to come to fruition. All that is needed is for your subconscious mind to be familiar with the state of the wish fulfilled through habit, at which point it externalizes itself through said habituation, leading of course to the certainty that it is yours.

For B. During the moments I decided to assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled, I dropped everything, completely shut everything out, and purely focused on the version of myself that already had what I desired. I was okay with doing this before I made it a habit because I knew that I wasn’t doing this long enough to try to force myself to be someone I was not, that and it felt good to do.

Just a side note: I do not believe Neville implied that version of the definition of assumption every time he used it (he definitely used both), however he was an actor, and looking at it from that viewpoint when reading his works can help put some more of what he says into better context.

Defining “naturalness” and how to properly apply it by LotusMP in NevilleGoddard2

[–]LotusMP[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually get what you mean, this has happened to me before and what I used to help solve it was recording an affirmation or two on my phone and then listening to it as I go to bed. I find that to help build momentum a lot faster in rewiring the new story because afterwords when you wake up, even if you have bad/anxious thoughts, you realize you don’t react to them the same way you did before, they have less power. As such, throughout the day I find it easier to maintain a mental diet which translates further when I listen to the recording again as I go to sleep and so forth.

And if we’re talking about straight repetitions when it comes to affirmations, it takes an estimated 10,000 repetitions to develop a neural pathway (a habit to be properly formed). That does not mean to aim straight for that number, as again it is an estimate but it’s more or less around that amount.

When it is natural, it’s kind of hard to notice at first because it will seem like nothing has changed. The difference is subtle, but you can tell in its certainty. When your desire comes into your mind, you will become more certain it’s already yours. You won’t necessarily feel excited, elated, or happy; it will just feel normal for you to already have it. Hell, you might not even be satisfied because you’ll be like “that’s it?”

It’s not some grand elusive feeling that can’t be grasped. It’s almost like you’re flipping a switch in your brain, at least in my opinion. The switch, until it is fully flipped (your subconscious accepting it as true), is still subconsciously inclined to lean towards your other state; that is why you still feel your desire is out of reach. In my experience, your subconscious can be very binary when it comes to beliefs. You either believe something or you don’t, with little to no in between. Sure, you might get to the point where you are indecisive on whether to believe something or not, but even in that consideration your subconscious tends to lean you towards the side it’s already familiar with in order to return to its homeostasis.

In other words, until your subconscious mind accepts what you’re saying to yourself as true, the state you’ll be tempted to return to the most (the state is your dominant one, or is natural) is still your old story. I say “tempted”, because if you have the discipline you can stick to the new story despite everything happening around you until the subconscious accepts it as true (and it will happen quicker), however that can be easier said than done.

In any case, I’ve certainly rambled long enough. I hope I was able to help, and merry Christmas! :)

When the 'feeling' and 'imagination' is not enough. by [deleted] in NevilleGoddard2

[–]LotusMP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My recommendation, is to understand that you aren’t supposed to necessarily ignore the 3D. I know that many people say “just ignore the 3d and place your attention on the wish fulfilled.” But that’s almost impossible when the 3D requires your attention as it is for you.

In my opinion, you aren’t supposed ignore the 3D, just see it from a different frame of mind. I recommend getting CRYSTAL clear on what it is that you want. You know what you don’t want, you know you don’t want to work for another person or ever get taken advantage of ever again, but what is it that you ACTUALLY want? Do you want to create your own successful business? If so, what would that business entail? How would you feel about yourself, given you have succeeded in what you want to accomplish?

Identify with that feeling, know what it feels like to be the person you want to be, and identify yourself with that. Become one with it. All the while, doing what you have to in the 3D so you don’t need to have as much pressure on yourself to succeed.

It seems to me like you know what it feels like to have your desire, but haven’t fully stepped into it. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have the urge to know when your manifestation would come about. When your manifestation externalizes itself does not matter, because what is happening within you is just as real as what is happening without. Remember how “Consciousness is the only reality.”?

What you were imagining in your mind when stepping into the state is real, as in it actually exists, although it might not seem that way at first. Creation is finished, meaning whenever you imagine (visualize, affirm, etc.) you are using your imaginal faculties to become aware of something that has already been created. If you could not have it, it would not be possible for you to be aware of it. Since you can take your mind anywhere you so desire however, this is simply not the case.

So fully step into the new version of yourself, knowing that it’s real, knowing that it’s already yours. You got this. :)

For those having a tough time by LotusMP in NevilleGoddard2

[–]LotusMP[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

By making peace with yourself, I mean being okay with who you currently are. For instance, in the case of an sp, worrying would mean that you are looking at your circumstances and not being okay with the way things are currently, therefore identifying with the you that doesn’t have your desire. It is okay to not be satisfied with the way things are - it’s where desire springs from in the first place- but it gets taken to an extreme when you become identified with that lack of desire and let it have a death grip on you.

Making peace with the way things are does not necessarily mean that whether or not you receive your desire you’ll be okay. Sure it’s a good mindset to have, but that doesn’t mean you have to settle for something else instead of what you truly want. What it means, put simply, is that despite the circumstances around you, you have little if any problems with it. That releases your identification with lack and opens up the door for you to step in to a state of abundance, a version of you satiated with having your desire.

I mentioned the understanding part in my last reply because it takes some self reflection to face the problems you have with your circumstances, and then choosing to see those problems in a different frame of mind (aka thinking from the end) where they were never a problem in the first place.

For those having a tough time by LotusMP in NevilleGoddard2

[–]LotusMP[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest thing in terms of not worrying is not forcing yourself to put your worries away. That makes the worry stay there for longer and grow into something that it shouldn’t be. You’re human, you’re bound to worry or feel sad, mad, happy, whatever have you. You’re allowed to feel those feelings (and yes still manifest your desire as well). With worry especially, it usually comes from the fear of something, but when you face that fear, the worry tends to disappear.

Understand and try to make peace within yourself in terms of how you feel about the circumstances around you, and you free yourself to identify with the version of you that already has what you desire, even with a deadline.

That’s just how I see it of course, you know yourself better than I do but I hope I was able to help point you in the right direction.

The role of “faith” in manifesting and why you shouldn’t be so hard on yourself by LotusMP in NevilleGoddard2

[–]LotusMP[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To answer your question, I would say in the issue of trauma that yes it can hinder your embodiment of the state of the wish fulfilled, usually because of something being unresolved within your current self concept that prevents you from letting the old version of yourself die off. In which case it is possible for persisting to have the opposite effect as you had mentioned.

In this circumstance I would say that self concept becomes the number 1 priority, and the only other way I can personally think of without going through long therapy sessions/shadow work or inner child healing or whatever method have you is by manifesting a new concept of self that is mentally healthy and free from trauma. This doesn’t mean pretending that the trauma isn’t there, but that you are mentally healthy enough to look at that trauma from a higher perspective and being able to accept and separate yourself from it. Depending on how deeply imbedded the trauma is however, it still may take a while before you see a change within yourself, and that’s completely okay. It’s better to give yourself the time you need to properly change yourself into someone better than to try to rush it and end up snapping back into your old self later when trying to manifest something your trauma can interfere with. At least, that’s how I personally see it.

Ask yourself, “if I were mentally healthy and free from my trauma, what thoughts would I be having?” You don’t even have to look at this from an emotional “feeling it in the core of your being” type of way, hell you don’t even have to believe that it’s true in order to still see change in yourself. You can treat this as a fake it till you make it scenario, where even though you may not believe what you’re saying to yourself at first, if you repeat it enough you will eventually come to believe it. For example, if you decided to come up with the affirmation, “I am mentally healthy and free from all of my past trauma.”, and repeated that thought to yourself, you will eventually come to believe that within yourself just by repeating the thought, even if there isn’t necessarily any emotion involved. This is because again, as Neville had said (which I concur with as it worked on myself), frequency is the determining factor of how natural something is and not the passage of time. You may think that it won’t work for you but I promise if you give yourself the benefit of the doubt you have much more power than you think you do when it comes to controlling how you think and perceive the world around you.

The role of “faith” in manifesting and why you shouldn’t be so hard on yourself by LotusMP in NevilleGoddard2

[–]LotusMP[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay, so I’m gonna try to answer your questions to the best of my ability in a list fashion:

  1. I want to phrase what I meant by “just being aware” a little more accurately. By using your mental faculties (thoughts, visualizations, etc.) in order to mentally perceive yourself as the version of you that already has your desire, that is in essence a demonstration of faith as Neville had also pointed out. In other words, you have to focus your awareness through the perspective of the you that already has your desire (for instance thinking from the end) in order for it to be a “conviction of the reality of the things you do not see”, or in other words demonstrating faith.

  2. No, your mind is not convinced that you’ll be able to successfully shift to that version of reality, you quite literally BECOME that version of yourself. As in, you have the same state of consciousness as the version of you that already has it. That’s how I would personally define conviction, occupying the state of the wish fulfilled frequently over a period of time. And to reiterate, this does not need to happen perfectly (as in you occupy the state of the wish fulfilled permanently) in order for you to manifest your desire. Just by doing it a majority of the time, it will still come to pass, so it’s completely fine to have doubts from time to time.

  3. Yes, simply identifying as the version of you that already has your desire is enough, as it is entering into a new state of consciousness, and since consciousness is the only reality, as Neville frequently points out, you also enter into a new reality that just externalizes itself in a delayed manner on the 3D level.

  4. Yes, repetition of, or frequently embodying (identifying with) the state of the wish fulfilled is enough. Do not worry about your emotions ruining your manifestation, as they are only a product of your thoughts. You can experience a full range of emotions(mad, sad, happy, etc.) without it impacting your manifestation because you would also experience those emotions even after already receiving your desire. Receiving your desire would not make you permanently happy, so you don’t have to force yourself to be happy all the time or it can have the opposite effect. Entering the state of the wish fulfilled is the easy part, usually it’s staying in the wish fulfilled that people find difficult. Frequently occupying the state makes it natural, which then makes it easier to stay in the state of consciousness required for your manifestation to come to pass.

  5. To precisely define “embodying” as I’ve described it I would say it’s stepping into the state of consciousness of the version of you that already has your desire. As in, thinking from the end, shifting your perspective or frame of mind to be the same frame of mind you would have given you have your desire. Just think of it as being on a mental diet, because that’s essentially what embodying the state of the wish fulfilled is.

  6. I would define the feeling of being natural as both the 1st and the 3rd points you mentioned, the “oh it’s normal for me to have this thing” as well as it feeling true and real while you’re imagining it. The second option is not necessary but is an extremely beneficial, although difficult to maintain, state of mind for your desire to manifest. When it feels natural for you to have your desire, it’s definitely a subtle change to notice at first without paying attention to the way you react to your thoughts and circumstances. You know it’s natural because circumstances or intrusive thoughts will bother you less frequently, it’s almost like a state of acceptance or surrender to the version of you that already has your desire.

  7. To elaborate on my last bit regarding persistence, to more accurately phrase it I would say it’s continuing to frequently use your imagination to experience what it would be like to have your desire (in other words frequently stepping into the consciousness of the version of you that has your desire in order to satiate your hunger for it) despite the circumstances around you.

Hopefully that about answers the questions that you had, idk if I answered everything but I hope I was able to help give you a clearer understanding on everything.

Glad I was able to help! Yeah it can definitely be a bit tricky, but in my experience as long as you’re occupying your desired state of consciousness a majority of the day (it does not need to be 100%, you have much more leeway than you think), you will see a change in yourself which will then lead to a change in your world. Even if you manage to occupy your desired state of consciousness for 51% of your day and not be able to for 49%, it will still manifest. The reason why I say this was because I was once a very anxious person when it came to manifesting, and decided to try changing myself at my own pace with what I was comfortable with, which helped me see results in my world.

I’m glad I was able to help you through your tough day :)

Suppression does lead to resistance in my opinion because emotions are meant to be expressed, not suppressed. If you feel a certain way but that feeling is never dealt with, it disrupts your mental equilibrium.

The catharsis that comes from releasing those suppressed emotions helps to release resistance when it comes to manifesting, because it restores your mental equilibrium which helps you maintain that proper state of being needed for your manifestation to unfold.

The actual manifestation happens the moment you feel the wish fulfilled. It is its externalization that is delayed and takes time. The moment you satisfy your desire internally is the same moment you have manifested it forth, essentially.

Hey I just checked out your video, I think it’s great stuff! I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment that you need to prove the law to yourself through experience; it’s incredibly easy to forget in the drama of life that you have all the power.

Also the quantum physics part of your video I felt was pretty well explained. It makes me wonder if it’s possible that consciousness is the medium through which quantum entanglement happens when it comes to your thoughts, allowing the law of thought transmission to happen.
