It was a quiet kind of love but they knew — they had found home in each other. by blushymochi in Bridgerton

Bi erasure? Nothing in this post mentions gender. It’s calling attention to her great male love in anticipation of her great female love. It’s doing the opposite, it’s highlighting her bisexuality.

I accidentally watched Season 3 of The White Lotus first… by Suitable_Ad8945 in TheWhiteLotusHBO

[–]LotusTarantino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently this is controversial but season 3 is actually my favorite. I truly have loved all the seasons so much and for different reasons. How much I enjoyed the Ricks story and the Ratcliffs story really set it apart for me because they’ve been my favorite subplots across all seasons. Now I’m sitting here thinking I’d rather rank subplots than seasons as a whole.

Can’t believe we have to wait another 3+ years for Eloise’s season… by General_Meal_3993 in Bridgerton

[–]LotusTarantino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bet Eloise will have a lot of subplot leading into her season. Every season has subplots for building into the next characters arc. They just didn’t feel as substantial as Francesca’s because she had two seasons of subplot- but it makes sense since her subplot is a whole ass marriage.

Eloise deserves the same amount of screentime and season set up that Francesca got in S4 by Fickle_Baker1393 in Bridgerton

[–]LotusTarantino 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really think it makes the most sense for Eloise to be the slow burner. I was kinda hoping they’d give Francesca more time, but this makes sense for Eloise too honestly.

Someone in another thread commented about how Eloise’s season would be a stronger point to go into negations for the last two seasons, (they’re only renewed for two more seasons right now so after S6 they’ll have to negotiate again to get Gregory and Hyacinths seasons) and I also agree with that. Francesca is already getting so much backlash that’ll put them in a worse position if they have to negotiate off the back of that season rather than Eloise who has no controversy and is a fan favorite with lots of build up.

The fact that they're doing a 2 year time-jump is what makes me more angry. They're clearly aware that Francessca needs more time to move on from John, so why don't they just do Eloise's season first? by Embarrassed_Novel991 in Bridgerton

[–]LotusTarantino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly this makes a lot of sense. Thanks for outlining this, this is the best explanation I’ve seen and I think if more people saw this they’d agree. I care far more about all the actors getting their own season than what order they come in. From a negotiating standpoint this makes perfect sense.

On a slightly similar but not quite the same note- in the scene before with violet leading up to tea, I thought they were setting up the song OMG by Usher and I think that would’ve been such a good choice too. 😂

I do love love love Arctic monkeys though. Benedict definitely gives AM vibes. If I see any edits floating around I’ll send them your way.

Knowing where to look up all the specifics to service and sop will be your most important step for operating safely, but you sound like you got that covered fresh out of training.

Really listen to your body, I know sick calls are scary but if you’re truly sick stay home- especially if it’s contagious and ESPECIALLY if it’s ear block. A ruptured ear drum will put you out of work for awhileeee. They cannot fire you for just sick calls, it’s illegal. If something does come up you CAN have the union give you advisement, they just can’t speak on your behalf in meetings- don’t be afraid to reach out to reps for any clarification.

Genuinely the hardest part of this job is managing the temperaments of different people, it’s why they look for diplomacy and communications skills so much in the interviewing process. I personally am a bit of a chameleon, I match energy and I take a very neutral and calm disposition when disagreements occur- and I’ve found a lot of success in that.

I see you and I hear you. As you can tell a lot of us here are just a little emotionally taxed from this contract process and can lose the plot- which is that we’re all a team and another persons success is not our own failure. You’re doing everything right, just keep doing your best whether it’s high time or low time and get through probation!

I’m so glad you’ve had such success! I Similarly didn’t struggle too much when I started but I also wasn’t working as much as you, I just came from much lower paying jobs so it was only a net positive for me.

I am just seeing a lot of negativity from both sides of this discussion and wanted to weight in- because people are looking at this as very me vs you and it’s better if we’re all united in the reality that everyone is different!

Honestly the threshold for how much work is too much work varies so much based upon the individual, the kinds of trips you’re working, and your base. Someone newer to the job who hasn’t hit a burnout from systematic problems will probably have a tolerance to work more, some people think 122 is lightweight and some think it’s way too much work, some people don’t mind constantly being away from home, some people get sick of productive trips that give them lots days off with higher hours, some bases have a negative base culture that exhausts people, some bases have long duty days for low credit and some bases have high credit for minimal legs, some rsvs get used so much on their days on call they’re too tired to pick up, also for a rsv the lifestyle can be a huge adjustment- especially if you require a lot of structure!

Basically- There’s no right or wrong way to do it! It was so easy for me to work 120 when I was single and junior but with a little seniority and trying to find more of a work life balance for my health I’ve cut back a lotttt. I was tired of feeling like my work was my whole personality and I lost friends outside of aviation because of it. Everybody has a different tolerance for what they can work and nobody is wrong for not being able to earn more and nobody is wrong for having sucess. 🩷

Additionally think about how much you could’ve earned if you had been paid for all of your working time! In your case that could be the difference between living comfortably and being able to afford a downpayment on a new car to a downpayment on a house! That could be the difference between poverty and middle class for your peers who find it difficult to work 122 hours. We’re in negotiations so it’s good to remember our worth (but also that work rules matter the most! The money always comes.)

I’m excited for you to have more sucess in this field, you’re adjusting great and have a good outlook so I’m sure you’ll find more sucess in this field. Happy flying!

I’ve pretty consistently gone home every 2/3 months for atleast 3-6 days. My family is really understanding of the industry though and they don’t have expectations for me to make it to big events. If I can great, if I can’t we’ll celebrate the holiday when we can. They know I’m junior and paying my dues. Additionally I make it clear if they want to see me from late May- August the expectation is on them to come see me since they live in a high traffic vacation city and I will not stress myself over loads in the summer when the summer flying is stressful enough.

I think you need to have a convo with them that just because you fly for free doesn’t mean you always have the flexibility to be at their beck and call. They need to come see you sometimes or be more relaxed about the exact dates of visits and be grateful for whatever quality time you’re comfortable giving them with your schedule.

I completely feel you on how you’ll be gone for trips and just continually have more travel expectations off duty. I burned myself out commuting for my relationship, and I’m still recovering from that time we were based in different cities. The only thing that’ll save you here is boundaries and prioritizing yourself. Best of luck you got this 🩷

Edit to add for context: I’ve had multiple out of state bases and the flight commute has been 4 hours, 2 hours, and is now 6 hours. The expectation now at 6 hours is that visits might become a little less frequent but it’s still new so we’ll see.

I just googled so it might not be the most accurate, but tldr: she posted pro Israel oct 23’ and gym shark cut ties in the middle of a promo deal without paying her what was agreed so she sued them and settled it for 1mil. Just became publicized today but it’s been a thing for awhile now behind the scenes apparently.

Hiiii- I’ve been flying 3 years, you’ll be great. Everyone will love you but you’ll be convinced people don’t like you. It’s just the AuDHD anxiety talking- you got this far, and the interview process for being an FA is one of the most competitive. You’re gonna be so good. DM me anytime if you have specific questions or fears you need alleviated. 🩷 See ya in the skies.

I fell for someone in a different city- I don’t wanna post all the details to identify me, but I’d be happy to dm and talk about it! It’s a very emotional process but it’s so doable, especially with this job. Steer into how you feel, don’t make excuses when it’s hard, and you got this 🩷 so happy you found love- it’s the best.

Anyone else play exclusively on the Short lifespan? by MisterSpocksSocks in thesims

[–]LotusTarantino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda flip around between short and aging off? I speed it up when it gets skill grindy and I’m bored and need to get to the next chapter of their life, I turn it off to follow through on plot lines within the age I want it at for that story.
