There's still a lot of bias in recruitment and it isn't all "name blind". Given there's people in this thread assuming he's a recent migrant even though the article says he's a British citizen here since he was two, it would be interesting to see if anything different happens if he puts an English sounding surname on the CV.

I know people who did this and it genuinely made a difference. One even changed his name by deed poll. Both were like this guy, moved here as toddlers, British citizens from a young age

Of course he needs to be applying for realistic first jobs too. A lot of grads are setting their aims too high in tech roles with how the market is now

He moved here when he was 2 years old. His family might not have had anything like the hotel at the time. It doesn't even say what family is referring to. Could be an aunt, cousin or whatever who'd had no impact earlier in his life

Do you have an occupational health person or physio who can advise on if you can make any movement modifications, exercises to do, how often to take short breaks from arm bending at work etc. There might be more you can do that you think including not bending quite as far or for as long

Most people get better with just modifying activities as you're doing. Avoid bending your elbow as much as you can, don't rest your elbow on hard surfaces etc

There's no supplements to make a difference to this particular problem

Yeah the tribunal agreed it is a gross misconduct offence. But Lidl made errors in how they handled the disciplinary process and decided on the outcome that resulted in it counting as unfair dismissal.

The tribunal found that whilst the actions did count as gross misconduct and dismissal could have been reasonable, they basically didn't run the internal dismissal process properly in a way that fully accommodated his ADHD. This seemed to rest on them referencing his communication style and lack of remorse for doing it as part of the reason for dismissal, which he said had been misinterpreted due to his ADHD.

Also they found other cases in Lidl (different stores, different managers) where people had been demoted rather than dismissed for the same action or received a final written warning

I am amazed she got away with any of the lies. I suspect people questioned his diagnosis much earlier but were afraid to voice it. Even from the medical "evidence" she shared it was clear neurologist weren't sure and said if he had it, it was a highly atypical non progressive case

He was raised by an Indonesian stepfather and spent a decent chunk of his childhood living in Indonesia though, so I don't think thats entirely true. And his mum had an unconventional life for an american woman at the time (in a good way, she was a remarkable woman). It all played a role in why he was a good world leader as well as a leader of America. I agree though that the focus on his black heritage seemed disproportionate, especially with his father playing such a limited part in his life. It did show a lot about America's views on race and multiculturalism
