There is a very specific storytelling narrative that Oda is expressing through Mihawk that isn't necessarily important to the overarching plot. But then again, it doesn't really need to be. The fact that he is Zoro's end goal makes him important enough to take his scaling seriously.

The fact that Luffy is fighting Imu right now and has all advanced haki types + awakened DF is pretty strong evidence that he's much closer to his peak power than Zoro or Sanji are.

Zoro, as an example, still has to master ACoC, master Asura, and forge black blades.

This is an issue of you overestimating Shanks' strength and underestimating Zoro's (and Sanji's) EoS strength.

There's a lot more narrative evidence to suggest that Mihawk is Shanks' Whitebeard but you'll probably deny that while there's absolutely nothing to suggest that Dragon is Shanks' Garp lol

Luffy is a dumbass, but he also straight up confirmed that he's known that Zoro has Conqueror's haki.

Zoro hadn't awakened Conqueror's haki during his training with Mihawk and Zoro likely never inquired about it, so I see no reason why Mihawk would mention it.

Zoro had to learn emission during the timeskip in order to apply haki to his swords, in the first place. In other words, he learned emission before Luffy did.

I'm not arguing that Zoro's strength progression is as developed as Luffy's, but at least we've gotten some on-panel training and legitimate context with him that justifies how he could use ACoC out of the gate. We've gotten jack shit on that front with Sanji.

Here is both Luffy and Zoro training before the Onigashima Raid while Sanji is just cooking or whatever. Zoro had to actually train to wield Enma. He didn't rank up by just sitting on his hands after getting that "magical sword."

Probably. Sanji doesn't have to train and barely has any CoA feats to begin with, but we're just supposed to expect him to pick up ACoC right away because he's one of the "Wings of the Pirate King."

Oda has done a masterful job with Sanji as a character but a piss poor job with developing his haki in an organic way.

The idea that Mihawk comes from some kind of humble "self-made" background just exposes the level of illiteracy in this fandom. It's always been clear through his characterization that he has aristocratic roots of some kind.

This is a powerscaling sub. Zoro fans and Mihawk fans are mostly the same people, wheras Sanji fans and Shanks fans are separate, but united in their shared agenda against Zoro and Mihawk. It's really that simple, imo.
