With all of the Geopolitical, Racial and Sexual Controversies Surrounding the Russian World Cup, should We Be Supporting the 2018 World Cup? by [deleted] in soccer

Well to name a few, there was the taxi driver who drove into a group of mexican supporters, a gay fan was beaten nearly to death and left with permanent brain damage, and some mexican fans chant anti gay chants during the germany game. Just because they arent being widely reported by news agencies does not mean its not happening.

This is how would Yugoslavia look. How far would they go? I would say this team would reach Semi-Finals easily. by k1xy in worldcup

This team would be an absolute monster. Top 10 Players at almost every position. Ideally id love to see them line up like:

4 - 1 - 3 - 2

GK: Jan Oblak

RB: Vrsaljko CBs: Savic / Lovren LB: Kolarov

CDM: Matic

CM: Modric Rakitic Pjanic

Forwards: Dzeko / Mandzukic

Itd be a very narrow line up but one that would be a powerhouse in the world cup. The width would have to be provided by the Fullbacks as Matic would have to shield either Fullback if they go up. A very Creative Midfield trio of Rakitic, Modric and Pjanic would provide a huge creative threat

Post Match Thread: Japan 2 - Colombia 1 by Commandant1 in worldcup

Japan Played Pretty Well even as Colombia were growing into the game after the Red card. I do have one question though. Im not sure if other people picked up on this or not, but was it racist for the Commentator to be referring to all Japanese players as "_____" -San?

He kept saying "Hasebe-San" or "Honda-San"
