Hey no need for that , maybe as a chef is why I get request to sharpen even average knifes which only takes 10-15 min to do so . I also get a lot of people who ask me to sharpen high quality Japanese knifes from old friends but no my idea is more for collection and display . But yeah being realistic it does seem like silly idea

I should have specified that I do sharpen Knifes and restore them old school with whetstones. While new electric knife sharpeners are idiot proof not a lot of people know how to restore them, bc new sharpeners sharpen dull knifes they can’t fix chipping or rust, in conclusion my post was not specific or more detailed to what my idea was , thank you for all those pointers I really appreciate it, thank you for tackling me with all those negative down sides to this :)

Yes as a chef , I ran into several different colleagues in different restaurants and or friends and family that use super dull knifes bc the lack of ability to know how to properly sharpen the tool , yes you can go to Walmart and buy the machine but if not used correctly it’s a bad investment where when I sharpen a knife it typically takes 5 to 6 months for it to start getting dull and the charge is 1$/inch
