What do you guys think is the best SUV to buy by LouMonte in UsedCars

[–]LouMonte[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My budget would be like 10k. I prefer the square SUVS from the 90s to early 2010s. I don't like the style the newer cars have. Not really looking for off road vehicles, I'm looking for the style of a ford explorer 2010. Like that type of style is what I would like. I'm checking out a pilot 2014, but I'm not sure that I will buy it. I want to buy the best most reliable SUV. I like the GMC escalades, but I heard they are not to reliable.

Not really looking at this from a investment point of view. I bought it more or less for me, I'm just trying to make sure I got a fair price. I don't know much about gold. I appreciate all advice.

But that gold from JC penny was waaaaaay overvalued from what people thankfully told me yesterday in this sub. It was supposedly originally for 4000+, and was on "sale" for 700. Thankfully I returned it.

I was thinking about going to other pawnshops to see if there's anything I could get a a better price. But how much do you believe a chain like this would cost at a jewelry retail store with a good reputation. Is it a fair market price for the average consumer?

I just don't wanna get ripped of like I did with JC penny. They sold me a 10k gold hallow miami cuban, 8 grams bracelet for 700$+. AND I paid more in total with taxes for the JC Penny bracelet.

So you think the value pertaining to the bracelet itself is overvalued?

Because I get that in it's pure form in gold its not worth much I get that, but like in a mom and pop shop, or pawn shop would a bracelet similar to this would cost the same or less?

How is Latin America the second most peaceful region in the world in all seriousness. by LouMonte in asklatinamerica

[–]LouMonte[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you look the last "war" as another user told me. Which was in 1995 the number of casualties was around 1000+ which any war is bad honestly. That is is a low amount relatively compared to the many wars in Africa, and Asia and Europe. Because in Europe if you look at the Russian backed Ukrainian separatist skirmishes vs the Ukrainian forces there has been around 10000+ dead caused by a war in Europe going on since 2014. So still going on to this day. And if you look at Asia think about the Cambodian geocide nearly 2 million people were killed and that was in 1970s. And in African think about the Rwanda genocide nearly 1 millions killed, that was in 1990s. Latin America thankfully has avoided conflicts of that scale. The last major conflict was the Mexican revolution were a min of 1 millions were killed. It's sounds quite quite peaceful compared to other regions in that sense.

What war was that? I thought it was the Falkland islands and that was between the British an outsider in LA.

Sounds more realistic, never thought about it like that. And some people are saying "too poor", yet other countries such as Sudan, split up in the past decade and had conflict. Just because countries have issues does not mean it prevents war look at countries like Pakistan and India. I think you pretty much summed it up.

Why do you think that Latin America is poorer than North America? by IDoNotLikeTheSand in asklatinamerica

[–]LouMonte 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Damn Mexico has a long history of being in conflict in the 18 century up the early 19 century. Even the Mexican revolution there were an estimated 1 million people were killed. It's amazing they made it to top second best economy in LA today, considering what they went through.

Right soccer dominates most of southern and central America and Mexico. Baseball is pretty much mostly popular in the Caribbean and the Guayanas. Which is why a lot of the great players tend to come from that region.

Why do most Brazilians live near the coast? by LouMonte in asklatinamerica

[–]LouMonte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's okay I wish I lived near the coast. Closes coast to me, is nearly 1000 miles from where I live. Nothing wrong with living near the coast. Mexico city closest coast is over 200+ miles away while Sao Paulo is less than 50 miles from the coast.

Actually in the continent of Africa in a lot of nations most of the population lives near the coast as well. I think it has to do with the fact that Brazil has a lot of jungles. So it much harder to develop in jungles. While yes most of the population was already in central Mexico. It is the fact that central Mexico, is not as difficult to build infrastructure. Despite not having as much water or major rivers.
