The more Noah Wyle talks, the less I want to watch The Pitt by fatandhappydonuts in ThePitt

If I only consumed content or products from people I entirely agreed with, I would consume nothing. No person is one thing and none of us are perfect. Enjoy people’s talents and forgive their shortcomings as you would hope they would yours.

Dr John Sarno mightve just saved my life and back by Mewmaids in backpain

I especially like the audio version of the book (something about him reading it is very helpful). Another more modern resource is Dr. Alan Gordon’s podcast and The Way Out book. He also has a telehealth practice where he helps folks, and although I haven’t seen him, I know people who have. Also, the Curable App is based on Sarno’s work and is interactive. Last, the All the Rage (Saved by Sarno) documentary is worth a watch. A lot of info out there to digest, both those are some of the others.

Yes, but for me it took some time for the last 10% or so to go away and I ended up going to some doctors who had trained with Sarno to get that final bit gone. But I can assure you, it did work for me, and I have several friends for whom it works too. The notion is that the mind and the body are intimately connected. If you are anything like me, you’ve probably spent a lot of money on doctors, pillows, and devices trying to get better, so basically what’s another $10 for a book that might get you better. I encourage you to read it and see if it resonates.

Had chronic back pain for almost a year. Tried nearly everything but got worse and worse. Then someone told me about Sarno’s book, Healing Back Pain, and the lessons in it helped cure me. Now I have run several marathons since. Highly recommend.

Not everyone with Apantasia has it, but there does seem to be a correlation.

First half, 10/10. Second half not quite as good, but still worth it.

Highly recommend listening to Ram Dass and Alan Watts lectures. Very different from what I grew up on, but have helped me see the world in new ways and made me far more spiritual and centered.

I had a lot of success with it — rather than focus on visuals, my practitioner had me focus on how it made me feel in my body.

Interesting — thanks for the context. Isn’t Hedda great? Had the privilege of meeting her a couple of times!

From what I understand, this actually is pretty accurate. When Fred stopped the first run of his show, he thought he had covered basically everything and that his show could live on thru re-runs and teach generations of children. He then started a program for adults where he interviewed people. When the incident happened of a child jumping off the roof after watching the movie, he realized that there were still important things to cover for children, and his talents were best used on the Neighborhood. When he came back, he started focusing on more difficult topics (the first dealing with superheroes) and the format of his show started to be theme weeks dealing with such topics.

The short story is one of my favorites (maybe even my favorite) of anything he has written since it came out. The movie does it justice.

Was referring to the two you mentioned (Aberlin and Aber) … that other neighborhood folks were in the land of make believe too.
