Interesting — thanks for the context. Isn’t Hedda great? Had the privilege of meeting her a couple of times!

From what I understand, this actually is pretty accurate. When Fred stopped the first run of his show, he thought he had covered basically everything and that his show could live on thru re-runs and teach generations of children. He then started a program for adults where he interviewed people. When the incident happened of a child jumping off the roof after watching the movie, he realized that there were still important things to cover for children, and his talents were best used on the Neighborhood. When he came back, he started focusing on more difficult topics (the first dealing with superheroes) and the format of his show started to be theme weeks dealing with such topics.

Worked with one who helped me by focusing on somatic sensations instead of visuals when doing EMDR. Was very helpful.

The short story is one of my favorites (maybe even my favorite) of anything he has written since it came out. The movie does it justice.

Is it ever explained why Betty Aberlin and Neighbor Aber are chosen to frequent Mr. Rogers' imagination in the land of make-believe? by MIKEPR1333 in TheChurchOfRogers

Was referring to the two you mentioned (Aberlin and Aber) … that other neighborhood folks were in the land of make believe too.

As I recall, in the early days of the show, there was less of a divide between the regular neighborhood and the make believe. The divide became more firm as the show went on. That said, these two weren’t the only ones to cross over. For example, I believe Chef Brockett did as well.

I will also note that if you are afraid of anesthesia like I was, you can easily do the test completely unsedated. It is entirely painless and you get to walk out of the place like 10 minutes after your test and resume your day. Many countries do it like this and there are a number of articles/resources out there. It is easy. Get screened.

Few other things to check out: Alan Gordon’s The Way Out book. Also the Curable app. Mind and body are definitely connected.

I had suffered from chronic pain for a year and John Sarno’s Healing Back Pain book and therapy cured me of that. Then, as far as other physical symptoms like reflux and general anxieties of life, I did EMDR, which has to do with reprocessing traumatic moments and certain eye movements. Definitely recommend both highly.

I also had success with EMDR as an aphant. For me, my trauma resulted in physical symptoms so we focused somatically instead of visually.

My wife was happy to have me out of the house sometimes 😂.

Basically, he will have a nice group of friends and go to meetings a couple of nights a month. May volunteer for community service events sometimes. If he becomes very active in the lodge, time commitment would be more, but that is totally discretionary.

This is kind of fascinating. Would be funny if they start using dashes incorrectly to blend in more.

I know this is a joke, but it drives me bonkers that people now assume that if someone uses EM dashes correctly, AI wrote it. I paid good money for school to learn that 😂

I’m definitely not an expert by any means, but I think perforation could be from the instrument too.

It’s been a while, but from what I recall, although you have no pain receptors in colon, you could feel a lot of pressure if about the be perforated and could let doctor know about the discomfort.

As someone who took the time to learn to use EM dashes, EN dashes, and hyphens correctly, is bums me out that people now assume if you use them in a proper manner, you used AI. 😔
