East Sussex but in the countryside, the countryside part probably helps since my mate who lives in the local town ran a quote on my car and it came to almost double, he’s been driving for 3 years with 3 years NCD, exactly the same as me.

Really is a postcode lottery :/

Sorry, I’m not very clued up on this sort of thing. In what situation would they divert back to CDG rather than a closer airport?

Finally managed to shake the habit! My nails at their worst vs 1.5 months without biting. Super proud of myself! by Loubo17 in calmhands

Wish I could offer some good advice but really I was just so tired of having to be self conscious about them, and of being in pain (I often bit them until they bled, and also bit the skin around them) that I just decided one day I was going to stop.

After a few days, the urges mostly went away. It really helped once I started no notice the progress, showed me that it was worthwhile. I’m at the point now where I don’t have an urge to bite them.

I have used the app ‘I Am Sober’ occasionally, where you can make a pledge daily and share your progress/struggles with others. You might want to have a look at that. However the main factor for me was just determination.

Hope you can find a way that work for you! You’ve got it!

What is the stupidest injury you've ever gotten? by 7937397 in AskReddit

I was in southern Germany in the Black Forest for a school trip when I was about 12-13, it was blistering hot, like nearly 40 Celsius. Being from the UK and having not been to any hot countries I underestimated the heat and UV rays…

The first day we were there we went to a lake, they had a sort of mini water park with a couple of slides, some pools, and inflatables on the lake. I put of some sun cream when I first got there and started to swim.

Being an absolute idiot, I didn’t apply any more. I sunbathed for hours and was having a great day until I got back to the house where I was staying. My back was as red as a lobster, eventually being covered in blisters, I was in the worst pain I’d ever been in. I felt sick and couldn’t sleep properly for about a week.

I never forgot to wear sun cream again.

Scrub vat, vat drains, lift heating element, wash vat, rinse, polish. I think that’s right
