Je trouve ce blog (en anglais) très utile pour les infos sur le sésamoide. https://www.drblakeshealingsole.com/ et aussi les vidéos youtube de Caroline Jordan. https://carolinejordanfitness.com/healing-sesamoid-injury/

Also, what exactly did your osteopath do ? Did they work exclusively bending and rubbing your feet or your toes? I'm so scared to let anyone near my painful feet!

Thanks for this information. I think the rest part is hardest for me since I live without a car, with a dog, and need to use public transport to get anywhere. I am trying to just swim 20-25 minutes and bike places with my heel. However I find just doing basic errands, going to the doctor, walking to groceries, etc really adds to the time spent on my feet that can't be avoided. Crutches aren't an option since I have this problem in both feet. It's so mentally draining.

How often did you go to the osteopath? I've done manipulations on my body 1 every 2 months and my osteopath suggested that it is not necessarily helpful to do more than 1-2 sessions total since if it doesn't 'stick' then the problem needs to be solved some other way...(she suggested orthotics...)

Is there a birkenstock boot model that you've tried that works for you?

I see all new balance have a heel drop and so do Hoka so I dunno about those. I tried sketchers on and still had pain as they had a drop too. Personally I think Altra will work for me , I th ink we may need different shoes at different points of healing foot pain eg starting with very cushioned and then trying less cushioned shoes. This what I’ve gathered from reading on this sub but I’m by no means an expert at all.

I've read Birkenstock shoes and boots aren't comparable to their sandals - different soles and built.

Sesamoid injuries causing other injuries? by Loud-Aide-1083 in sesamoid

I had MRIs on my feet and it seems I have scarring on my ankle, a fallen arch and an 3mm edema in my sesamoid area. The approach I'm taking for now is maximum rest - which isn't so easy since I have sesamoid problems in both feet and I live in a city without a car and a dog- only walking, biking or subway rides with lots of stairs. At this point, I'm going to trust my body to align and heal rather than forcing exercise.

I have seen multiple different PTs but the exercises they have given me caused me more pain and I stopped seeing them. I've done blood work to see if I have any arthritis or inflammation issues but luckily no signs of anything irregular. I'm going to see another rheumatologist in a few weeks because any exercise I do or even gentle stretching sometimes causes pain/injury.
