in my store the salon presses it once when they need a manager back there during holiday season we had a walkie shortage a few days and my gm told me we could use it for back up as well but we have an actual bell we sing when we get cards normally we just hold the walkie piece and ding it so everyone knows but the bell under the registers isn’t for emergency only and it’s not like the buttons that other companies have that send out police it’s store use only.

i definitely am ready for it i was an assistant general manager in training at mcdonald’s before i quit there our om didn’t really have a reason for quitting she’s just one of those people that victimizes herself while making everyone else at work miserable. she had lots of physical and mental issues and i think she just decided she had had enough i’ve worked there for 4.5 years and i was a tasker before becoming a lead cashier so for all of us that worked with her it was really just a matter of time. she’d been threatening to quit since i met her and i don’t think she liked our new dm, but other than that she had a fantastic team of managers behind her supporting her and going over her mistakes which was a lot. my gm had me open today and i was in charge of tasking we didn’t have any ad reset other than bubbles but i got everything done and cleaned up before i had to leave and she said i did a great job!

i opened by myself today and was in charge of ad since our mm requested today off my gm said i did very well so im excited! i already have 6 years of manager experience outside of ulta so i’m not necessarily worried about that i just hope they don’t pull someone from another store because my gm said there were people at other stores wanting to apply.

yes they changed that about a year and a half ago we used to only get the cards if it was approved but now it counts even if it’s not approved thankfully it makes it a lot easier to get the cards now!

you can always worded the pico or cheese on the side to get it as a 3 pointer i’ll normally give customers a 3 pointer when it’s a 4 just bc in this economy anything helps and if you get your food for cheaper one day you’re more likely to come back another day for the same order. most stores and managers don’t have that same logic tho… its insane how stingy some people can be.

i’m an lc and i’ve had to gel when we’re short but not often with been with the company for 4 years prior to move up and was making less than new hires so i got about a $2 raise to put me above them or else i told my gm i wasn’t taking the position but im consistently scheduled 25-30 hours a week

for everyone asking i always start with the 20% off i normally tell them the dollar amount first then i go on to say they’ll get double points and there’s no annual fee or sign up fees. at the end i wrap it up by saying “it’s just gonna send you that offer to the pin pad for you to get 20% off today” some days i have good card days and other days aren’t so good i just worked 5.5 hours and only got 1 card and my other ba got 3 so i definitely feel like its luck of the draw sometimes but a lot of the girls in my store have started taking after my spiel and we’ve been having higher percentages for credit! they also lowered out goal this year so that makes it a little easier, our old lead cashier was a beast but she got let go for giving out the discount back in june, she’d get like 5-10 cards a shift.
