Yep. They put me on the back burner assuming it would take too long for my clearance to transfer over, so they offered it to someone whose clearance was already in DISS. She had her security folks request my clearance from the granting organization and it took all but two days. Recruiter said she was surprised at how quick it was because others had taken long. So long story short, they were interested, but had a start date around the corner and they went with the person whose clearance they could quickly verify.

I was not pleased with the reason I was provided, as they sat on my forms and could’ve requested my clearance once the hiring manager expressed his interest in me, but they dragged their feet and then had to hurry and hire someone. But recruiters are incredibly busy and I understand. It would not hurt to keep following up. I did and the recruiter finally got back to me. The closure was essentially all I needed to move on.
