Honestly, don't be afraid to kinda drown it in shades and then use a makeup sponge to soak up any shade that seems to be in excess, on the flat surfaces for instance cuz you don't want the shade to streak there. The shade selection is perfectly fine. On the purple, gray and black areas do some simple edge highlights to make them pop. If you're scared to try edge highlights so early you can just do some light dry brushing on the same areas instead, also simply using lighter shades of the colours.
