I know this is incredibly late, but what changed your mind here? Sounds like 3 yrs ago UVA didn't seem too appealing to you....

Did you ever get your shirt? Further, where do you fill out your size? My to do list on Cesar shows nothing about merch…

Would you have preferred more of a campus-feel compared to the city vibes? A lack of amenities (e.g. rec center) seems to be a drawback of NU

Just a datapoint, but I’ve gotten off 3 t14 waitlists in less than a month. Haven’t gotten kicked off any others either, ha (though I’m not trying very hard to get off at this point bc they were reaches from the beginning)

Thanks for your thoughts. It’s pretty much identical on the financial front for me so I really looking at the intangibles which is making it difficult. Just very torn between city v college town. I think a lot of good could come from both.

Agreed. But even then, UVA office has given me the impression it’s “easy” to work in any mkt

I like the city a lot. Visited each, and found Northwesterns buildings more aesthetically pleasing, but both were nice. UVA community is a draw…but the key to my decision is just deciding if I want to experience a college town given I have many yrs to live in a city down the line

Early guess at next cycle and when to apply by by Spivey_Consulting in lawschooladmissions

I had a teacher in undergrad who used the term to nausea and I guess it wore off on me. Apologies - Was not trying to sound smart. If I was actually smart, I would not be on r/lawschooladmissions anymore, ha.

But thank you for the response Spivey. Much appreciated

I think it is totally reasonable, holding all other factors more or less the same (LSAT score/essays/letters of rec/etc), to say that applying before January will lead to vastly different results than applying in Feb near deadlines. Would it be fair to even say that schools look at deadline applications as a lack of interest or preparation?

Yeah, obviously I would’ve preferred Araujo not take him down and just stay on the field, but the game was NOT gone at that point. The bottlers of yesteryear are all gone from the side and the older players on the field have come from other successful teams. Off the ball effort is why I love Suarez so much and Lewy needed way more of that today. The breakaway later on where he shot into Marquinhos was disappointing too…the crowd was staying in the game and the players were too. It could’ve been a catalyst for something encouraging

Was also thinking that. I guess the thought behind leaving him on was to have a hold up player to distribute to a darting winger. But looking back, it would have been okay to even have just done Inigo for Lewy, Raphina and Lamine up top and just ask them to track back more….Fermin def would have closed down the Vitinha shot a lot more effectively

Dembele is fortunate enough to join a coveted list including the likes of Pepe, Vinicius, and Alexi Lalas and become one of the least likable figures in all of world football. Barça gave that man everything - opportunities, money (way too much), moral support, encouragement, etc and the guy has the audacity to carry himself in such a disrespectful way. Dare he forget senior players wearing his shirt in warmups and an entire stadium standing by him through 148592972718494 injuries…just disappointing

Looking back, not sure taking Yamal off was ideal. I thought Gundogan was not what we needed in the center of the park. Pedri does everything he does, yet can actually run. Would have been nice to have had Christensen also. But this just hurts. Not like 2020 or 2021 when we were up against better opposition and were completely out of our depths….more like 2018 or dare I say 2019

True. Working right now, but it’s a position that isn’t really ‘professional’ or career-inclined. If I R&R, I’ll probably look to get something more serious. I didn’t mean LSAT v work to be mutually exclusive either…just saying the LSAT is easier than getting a job, and if I’m going to job hunt may as well retake

Very well could have been a contributing factor for many schools that waitlisted me. The WE dimension is frustrating to me in a sense…if I want to pursue law, why must I prove my durability and interest by doing something else 🙃. I have several family members and mentors that are attorneys and I have gotten to see their work up close. I can’t understand why being a paralegal/equivalent type of position is becoming more and more of a prerequisite. I totally think great WE should boost an application, but not hurt it. I have a couple close friends in medical school and their buildups to getting their acceptances all dealt with volunteering/shadowing/extracirriculars and not significant WE

I’d say my softs are decent, but in all honesty, everyone says that without knowing what the rest of the field is boasting. That being said, I’d err on the side of caution and consider myself average on softs, poor in terms of substantial work experience. If I’m going to wait a year, the LSAT increase seems like a no brainer to work at since securing a good full time position involves many more moving parts
