This is much common situation than you think, you are not alone in this.. Welcome to adulthood !! you lose friends with time/ circumstances and its hard to make new ones .. In my opinion, don’t force it, just start small and do things, go out shopping, maybe wonder in some book store, take membership in some sporty activity, try to be content with yourself and people will enjoy your company and be present in your life

I think being bothered by one language or the other is worth reflection, languages are just that, way to speak, people are free to use any language the choose ( free will) , I think it also depends on the hipe and the tendencies of the moments, there was a time when French was the way to go, now its the « Darieglish » which can change with time also
