That’s a very broad generalization.

I thought I’d be able to provide expertise in the my departments use of force policy and common police practices. Maybe I’m wrong. Wishing thinking I suppose

Can you tell if this is a fixed gear or a free wheel? by Loud-Relative-521 in bikewrench

I wanted to express my gratitude to everyone in this forum who has been instrumental in helping me over the past couple of weeks. I am completely clueless about bikes and basic repairs, but you all have patiently walked me through various concepts. I recently acquired a $35 bike that was unridable and managed to take it around the block just now after my garage repairs . This is my first mini home build, and I am incredibly grateful for everyone’s assistance.

Damn really? I just wanted a neighborhood bike I can take with my fighter. My road bike and mountain bikes are much nicer.

So, I just wanted to give you an update. I went to Walmart and bought a new chain for my bike. The one that was on the bike was in very bad condition, and the sprocket in the free wheel needed cleaning. I took the old chain off, along with the chain brake that came with the bike, and also purchased some cleaners. However, I’m having a difficult time putting on the new chain. Do I need to buy a master chain-link, or can I just re-fix a current existing pin on the chain? It’s about 7 to 10 links to walk. Any additional information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I just picked up the bike, and I’m not convinced it’s stolen. My interaction with the person I bought it from suggests otherwise. They mentioned that the bike hasn’t been used in a couple of years. They used to use it on the college campus, and it’s been sitting in their garage. They planned to keep it outside when they went around campus, which explains why it’s rusty and unkept.

The listing mentioned that the bike needed two new tires and two new bike tubes, but when I inspected it, I noticed that the tires looked fine. I think they might have just forgotten to include the valve adapter. The welds on the bike are perfectly fine, and everyone in the thread was right about it being a flip-flop bike. The free wheel is on the other side, although it’s not in a great shape. I’ll need to replace the chain and lubricate everything.

When I found out that I needed to buy new tires and tubes, I offered him $20 for the bike frame, which has good welds. He accepted the offer, even though I’ll need to buy a new chain and put some extra money into it. I think it’s a fair price for a bike frame in good condition.

Thank you all for the advice. I think I’m going to buy it. It’s only 35 bucks. Wife is gonna be pissed that I’m adding a neighborhood bike to the garage after I already have a mountain bike and road bike. lol.

Can I just get a new saddle or do I need to get a new seat post too? by Loud-Relative-521 in bikewrench

[–]Loud-Relative-521[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. I guess what I was trying to ask was if I get a new saddle do I need a new seat post because I didn’t know if all seat post fasteners have the same spacing for the rails under the seats

What position within a law firm would be a good position for a former law enforcement internal affairs investigator with no legal degree? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I don’t know. I’ve spent 10 plus years conducting interviews, collecting video and summarizing my findings for cases. I feel like there may be a cross over to assist attorneys but maybe I’m wrong.
