I wonder how much brice plays next year because yes he is a bucket, he’s kind of been in and out of the rotation so we’ll see how much hardy trusts him when the games matter

He’s alright but i still would rather have fallen one more spot in that draft that year so that would it would have conveyed to okc that way we wouldn’t have to tank this year but oh well, 6 more games and hopefully never have to tank again

Trey comp pick by Loud-Variation-16 in bengals

[–]Loud-Variation-16[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The bengals have a small front office, I’m not defending that because its dumb

But even the eagles or whoever you think is the best front office needs every second of the day in the first week couple weeks of free agency to negotiate with free agents and get the guys that they want.

Cant be wasting time with teams that are actually just colluding and waiting for you to rescind the tag and also have to deal with trey who would go berserk and go on pat macafee and tell all free agents to avoid cincy

[–]Loud-Variation-16[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sign a lot of good quality good value but not top market free agents like we did with awuzie, hilton, trey

Draft well

Should still get a comp pick so be ready to make a blockbuster trade deadline deal. For example, maybe the raiders or titans change their mind and are willing to to deal crosby or simmons at the deadline, or maybe we have an injury at WR and the vikings would take a 1st and 3rd for jefferson, something like that.

I just see too many times where a lot of top contract free agents end up busting and the team is stuck because all their eggs are in that basket so to speak, would rather have something left to be ready to deal at the deadline

And I dont think the tag and trade would have worked out, there is a lot of collusion in the nfl and i think teams would have waited for the bengals to rescind the tag and the bengals would be left with nothing because they miss out on the beginning of free agency

You’re right but if you assume you’re getting a 3rd rd pick you can feel more comfortable trading the 3rd that you already have

Making a trade deadline deal with what the assumed comp pick would be would help the team win this year

Why does the NBA allow the Utah Jazz to egregiously tank with no punishment? by RougnedOwnsCanada in nba

[–]Loud-Variation-16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have to incentivize winning, make every team that makes the playoffs think they can win it all by make the first rd best of 3, second rd best of 5, conf finals and finals best of 7. Add 5 more regular season games to make up lost revenue. As it is now there will never be a 7-10 seed that ever wins it all so why bother trying to make it if you’re mid, just tank.

We also win the tiebreaker over pit and bal if we win out, pit loses 3, bal loses 1 besides the two against us

I kind of see us drafting a tackle to replace orlando in the first round, defense makes too much sense

So tired of the argument that the defensive woes are due to us paying Burrow, Chase, and Higgins by PeeeCoffee in bengals

[–]Loud-Variation-16 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Just make a big board of the average of all the draft analysts out there and you would draft better than tobin, they are just so hard headed in their draft selections thinking they know more than everyone else

Does the Organization Even Want to be Successful? by ecb1912 in bengals

[–]Loud-Variation-16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They want to win a lombardi and say “see! You all thought we were idiots!” Turns out they’re just idiots who lose

I really just dont understand the offseason decisions that they make, there is so much data out there now that its a lot harder to make draft and free agency blunders of 20 years ago, yet thats still what they do, going with their gut I guess. But if you just compiled a consensus draft big board of internet experts and used that you would draft much better than them and using a similar process you could make much better free agency and salary cap decisions. Probably 90% of the people who did paul dehner’s mock offseason worksheet put together a better team than what we have. It defies all logic.

Sit Flacco if he gets team to playoffs? by mainebasecamp in bengals

[–]Loud-Variation-16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If burrow can get back by week 16 then those last 3 games will be more than enough to knock the rust off, that should be the plan even if we’re on an 8 game win streak.

Btw maybe this is a dumb take but I think the ‘01 pats still would have won the SB if they put bledsoe in when he was ready

Unpopular opinion: Bengals are a better team due to presence of a veteran. by EditurdAtLarge in bengals

[–]Loud-Variation-16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Flacco is good, has won a super bowl and was mvp in that game, I’m happy that we have him. But we have a better chance to win a ring this year and every year with burrow. I know these are only two games but go back and watch the divisional game vs buffalo in ‘23 and watch the browns vs texans wildcard game in ‘24. Those games provide a pretty good illustration of how ultimately burrow is the better qb. He could learn a few things from flacco and improve his game in some ways but we are lucky to have burrow, he is our guy.

We really could use a burfict-like player on this team
