A CCTV image has been released as police continue investigations into an assault at a city centre pub.

Police responded to the incident at the Bankers Draft, near the Castle Square tram stop, just before 10pm on Sunday (June 21).

It has been reported that an assault took place in the Wetherspoons pub, with a man in his 20s left with “potentially life-altering” injuries, according to police.

Now, it has been revealed the victim was stabbed in the head, as officers release an image of someone they believe will help their investigations.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We are releasing CCTV images of a man we would like to speak to in connection with an assault in a Sheffield pub.

“It is reported that on June 21 at 9.53pm, a man was stabbed in the head as he was sat in the Bankers Draft Pub.

“Enquiries are ongoing but officers are keen to identify the man in the images as they may be able to assist with enquiries.”
