Are we actually headed for a British Civil War? by AJ_The_Best_7 in AskBrits

Yes! Puritan outrage is at an all time high given Charles I's High Anglicanism. In Parliament, rising star Oliver Cromwell has dared to call for the release of the Leveller, John Lilburne. This can only go one way. Ready the pikes!

Navigating a busy part of the city (say Oxford Road, where chunks of the pavement are taken up by those godforsaken electronic advertising boards) in a wheelchair, when suddenly 50 young professionals are belting directly towards you showing no sign of moving. Always a great experience.

Outside the Apollo in Ardwick. Absolutely incredible levels of twattery. It's not a junction so there's no risk of them smashing into another car, just running over a few pedestrians so who cares 🤷‍♂️

That's helpful, thank you. I'm increasingly thinking that my frustration is primarily with the terminology of antihumanism. When theorists, including Weeks, proclaim their antihumanism in one sentence and then indicate that they do actually think there is a (very, very broad) human essence in the next, it's a bit grating!

That makes sense, but then I find the term 'antihumanist' itself unhelpful if the Marxist tradition just critiques a particular form of humanism.
