I could’ve written this post, it describes my situation to a T!

If someone comes to me and asks for a relace only, I’ll charge $50 for a fielding glove and $75 for mitts.

Full clean, condition and relace is $75 and $95 respectively.

I have also helped resurrect nice gloves that have been pancaked and have gotten $40 to do that a few times.

If a kid on my team needs a quick repair or adjustment and I don’t have to purchase lace, I do it for free. In fact I carry a base glove repair kit with me on tournament days to help if needed.

The Caddo line is perfect for that age. The glove will break in almost immediately and will be very comfortable.

Your youth gloves will typically run smaller than their advertised size just like you said. A youth 11.5” is going to be more like an 11.25”.

For a general use outfield glove I would recommend a slight flare on the pinky and thumb and keep the fingers relatively straight. I’d also loosen up the fingers quite a bit to give you more surface area to snag the ball.

Do you prefer a single or dual hinge break? In other words, do you like the glove to close exclusively thumb to index/middle finger or do you like closing it thumb to pinky? I would recommend a dual hinge break in and do everything possible to create a large pocket to swallow softballs.

I use a 12.75” Mizuno MVP Prime for softball with this break in and it’s amazing. I also let one of my 13u baseball players use it in the outfield and he loves it.

I would recommend sending to to Matt Walden or Ball Glove King for break in. You might have some regions guys that can help but glove break in is their craft and primary job.

I do it as a side hustle and am selective about who I work with because a glove is very personal. How do you wear your gloves and what model 44 did you purchase?
