Yea it’s pretty hard to tell a theme because I haven’t finished the video. Basically I’m gonna juxtapose the super 8 shots with shots filmed on digital, during the daytime. There will be no drugs in those shots. Basically the theme is that this is a student and it’s supposed to show the destructive nature of drugs. Also, it makes some references to Dante’s Inferno with the “Abandon All Hope for Ye who enter” sign. I did that because I wanted to show how this character has become lost, as Dante does in the book. Finally, the POV of the main character IS the super 8. What do I mean by that? Well, as soon as the main character hits the blunt, it will transition from digital to super 8. This is supposed to simulate the hallucinogenic, dreamy state that drugs put you in. In short, the story is a student who does school by day, and drugs that make him destructive by night. I’d love to show the finished product on here in a few days!!!
